Help! My mother's freeview box keeps defaulting to Television X

The best advice apart from not to do this again would be to rescan. I know Freebox boxes work differently, but after a rescan it takes you to BBC1 (first channel in numerical sequence). Good luck, let us know if you have got it sorted!

I'm visiting my elderly mother at the moment and last night I had a sneaky look at the free 5 minute preview which they show decoded at 11pm. However today I find that even when changing the channel, switching it off then back on again, it still comes up as channel 93. Although it only broadcasts when she is in bed, the Television X banner is still displayed during the day. Any help would be appreciated!

How bizarre, one of our boxes is randomly changing channels to Television X, and even recorded a film the other night. My missus blamed me, and I blamed our son .... but I don't think he did really, and I certainly didn't.

A bit OTT, surely? Thank you all for your interest anyway, I wasnt expecting more than half a dozen replies! Yesterday I had to turn the box on for mother and then change the channel before turning the TV on. She did ask why channel always started on 93 but I said I didn't know (which I don't!) However the problem is partly sorted as today it is starting up on the Parliament channel. Trouble is, she knows I've been watching the Parliament channel......

Apparantly to reset a sky digi box you have to unplug from the wall for a minimum of two minutes and ten seconds, then plug back in but leave power off for another two minutes and ten seconds.
Not sure if it works for a freeview box, also could be complete bollox, but worth a try
