It does look a lot like Terry Garoghan, unofficial Brighton mayor, you know.

I would say it looks quite like a Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer. But they are pretty rare over here. I would suggest more of a mongrel than anything, with a bit of German Wirehaired pointer in it.

looks quite cute mind.....i say, is that a signature i see in the corner Holmes??

Because the photo of this dog is taken at the eye level of the subject in question, I can deduce from this, that the photo was indeed taken by another, similar sized dog. So we are definitely looking for a 2-dog family.....

How about contacting local vets to see if they know the dog, he may have had chip implant or vacination locally.

So let me try and understand what has happened today. The OP went to the Argus with his story who decided to run it? Then, exactly how do 2-3 national papers pick up on it? I think it's pretty obvious that they don't spend their days trawling through NSC(??) so I am genuinely interested on how these things work?

Local journalists might get commission for passing on local news stories that the nationals might be interested in, perhaps.

No idea mate. I didn't contact the Argus though they called me. They do read NSC it seems
