...yes, on November 24th here in the UK, we are apparently going to finally see the release of the most hyped (probably vastly over-hyped) album in the entire history of music - Chinese Democracy.

Just can't see how it can ever live up to al lth enonesense surrounding its production, 12 years is that right? It is going to have to be simply the best Album ever made, or it will be a failure. IMO of course

Frutos, I'm disappointed in you. You of all people should know that Hell Froze Over in 1994 when The Eagles released a comeback album called Hell Freezes Over

The album name is in reference to a quote by Don Henley after the band's breakup in 1980; he commented that the band would play together again "when Hell freezes over."

:lolol:

This did occur to me when I posted the topic. I have the DVD of the HFO concert and it's brilliant, fairly stripped back and acoustic to let those awesome harmonies show through.

As for GNR, I just don't see how it can live up to all the hype and delays. As someone else has already said it would have to be the undisputed greatest album in the history of music to manage that at this stage. Factor in the knowledge that Axl is a certifiable nutter and the rest of what is currently called GNR are nothing compared to the classic line up, and I suspect a let down of massive proportions is imminent.

That said though, I'll still more than likely buy it, just in case.

Don't even know if that's a band or an album or a political movement. Whoever it was who paid for the hype was robbed blind

'Tis the VERY long awaited new album from Guns N Roses.

It's been in production for 12 years and many people had begun to believe it would never see the light of day.

Dr Pepper to Make Good on Chinese Democracy Stunt
Soda manufacturer Dr Pepper promised a free soft drink to everyone in America if Guns N' Roses releases its long-awaited Chinese Democracy album before the end of 2008. Now that Axl and company have set a release date of November 23, Dr Pepper says it will make good on the offer. Those who want to claim a free soda can go to the Dr. Pepper website on November 23, enter some personal information and get a coupon for one 20-ounce drink that should arrive within the following 4 to 6 weeks. (The offer strangely said no free soda for former GNR members Slash and Buckethead.) The freebies expire in February 2009.
The band didn't know about the promotion until it was announced in March 2008. When he heard about the proposed giveaway, Axl Rose explained: "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy, as for us, this came totally out of the blue. If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr Pepper with him."
The "Chinese Democracy" single went online yesterday (you can listen to the whole song here and then rate its rockingness in our poll).

Ah right. If memory serves, Axl Rose used to turn up for his UK gigs about three hours late, long after people could both watch the gig and get home on the last train. Total over-indulged KNOB IMHO. Hope it bombs bigtime.

Sounds about right, as said earlier the bloke is a certifiable nutter.
