Now I'm not suggesting Murray isn't Champtionship material, but I do think Gus will know if he is and what he's worth and what he can get for the same money. For a change I actually trust the influence the manager has on this and that outcome will be the right one.

Ok we dont know that Murray will be a 20 goal striker in the championship but i think the team that Gus will put together for next season will be one that creates a lot of chances and recently Murray doesnt miss many so he's gonna score in this team at a higher level, it will cost a lot to replace him and if theres money available for the likes of Hoskins rumoured to be near to a £1 million package then im pretty sure Bloom will also finance a new contract for Murray.

If we dont sign muzza on a new deal, it will cost us at least 1 million to replace him, and thats without the wages. Glen is in a good place now as his deal is running out and hes scoring goals. Any club that is watching him is more likely to take a risk on him as hes only going to cost the club wages. Hope he stays hes been class this year and can easy step up to the championship!

As I have said before sign him up because if he doesnt make the step up we will be able to sell him to a Div 1 club who dont get promoted for good money because he is proven in this division. So him signing is a win win situation for us.

Tricky one this. Right now he's gold dust to us. But what if he flops in The Championship? I'm guessing he will have no end of offers coming his way. I will be surprised if he signs anything before his contract runs out.

I'm sure Gus and Tony will do whatever is best for the club.

Depends on why he signs a new contract is it just for money or a combination of money and play for a progressive cliub.

Well I don't know him so its hard to say! But I guess money is the major factor in a players decision! If we offered £8,000 a week and someone like Southampton offered £12,000 I'm sure he would be off. Pure guesswork of course, he's in the driving seat so lets see which route he takes.

Supposedly we'll have 5 squad strikers on the books next season and these will include Agdestein ( as well as Barnes who is still under contract )

These 5 will be

New proven Championship / Continental striker
New Championship level / Continental striker ( Chris Wood maybe )
New Championship level / Continental striker or Glenn Murray
Barnes
Agdestein

I'd like to see Glenn stay, but if he doesn't I'm sure we'll build a great strikeforce next season anyhow.

With Gus baiting Murray in the press all season about getting 20 goals what are the chances he's got a contract he's prepared to sign ready for him now he's got them? Wouldn't bet against the club saying earlier in the season 'right Glen, if you want £**k p/w you need to prove you're a 20 goal per season striker, get the goals and you'll get the contract', feasible??

I am sure Tony will give Gus a transfers/players wages budget to work with depending on the income the club can generate.

For example, if we get promoted and are playing in the Championship next year, the budget could say be in the region of £7m. Knocking off £2m for transfer fees this would leave £5m to spend on players wages. Assuming we have 22 players in the first team squad to cover injuries and ensure competition for places, on average each player would earn in the region of £4,370 per week (£5m '/. 22 '/. 52). Ok some players will get more than this and some less, but if the club is going to be well run, not overspend and go into debt with their future threatened like Portsmouth, Plymouth, Palace, Sheffield Wednesday (the list goes on and on) Gus will need to stick to a budget.

In this example, how much would you be willing to pay Glen Murray per week bearing in mind strikers tend to be the highest earners at a club? Other players may of course get jealous and this could affect team morale. Is Glen Murray, worth say £17,000 per week and if so could the club afford to pay this?
