Burrell Arms best pub in Haywards Heath FACT! (well maybe not but the only place that deserves to be called a pub)

I was offered that pub as a manager a couple of years ago but was not impressed and the wage offered was shit so turned it down and stayed semi retired, as I am now.

The Duck used to do a good mixed grill but now seems as if th e owner is in financial trouble as they never have any stock or at least didnt when i last went in there about 6 months ago.

My favourite for both the beer, Badgers and good food is The Snowdrop.

The mixed grill at The Duck used to be superb, the liver and bacon wasn't too shabby either. Unfortunately, it has had a huge number of managers in the last few years and went off the boil. Mick and Linda (formerly of The Sussex) have taken on The Duck as of last Thursday. A decent, though not exceptional, pint of Harveys was had and I shall make a couple more trips in the coming weeks and see whether it has long term potential once again.

I confess I am not fond of Badger beers but I do make the occasional foray to The Snowdrop for a pint of Fursty Ferret and a decent bit of grub.

Would much prefer to go to Lindfield, somewhere like the Stand Up Inn - No chavs, decent atmosphere, nice selection of drinks...lovely.

Probably the best post in this thread - although the Snowdrop deserves it's mention.

Actually went in the Burrell last night - seems a bit better now the smoking ban has kicked in. Still a bit of a hole though....
