Going to be called off what ya think?

BOXING
The British Boxing Board of Control says it has received the "full support" of the World Boxing Council over its stance on the Dereck Chisora-David Haye fight sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.

A letter from WBC president Jose Sulaiman confirms those involved in the fight would be dismissed from the WBC if it went ahead on 14 July.

"We will expel Luxembourg from our organisation if the commission went ahead as well as any person or institution that has relations with them," writes Sulaiman.

What kind of MUG would actually pay to watch this fight anyway ? Chisora is a chump, Haye is just a gobby washed-up twat, neither of them have beaten anyone of any note, and there's absolutely nothing whatsoever riding on this fight other than a couple of tools (and a promoter) wanting a payday from an overhyped meaningless public tear-up.

I wouldn't pay so much as a quid to Sky Box Office for this. If it was taking place in my back garden I wouldn't bother opening the curtains. The whole event is a total embarrassment.

£17.95 on Sky Box Office and Sky are expecting one of their biggest ever pay per view take-ups, love them or loathe them they've got the country talking.

Depressing isn't it. How can people get brainwashed into paying out to watch such a non-event ? Would you pay the thick end of twenty quid to watch a punch-up outside a pub ?

"Ooh they had a scuffle at a press conference, lets see them settle their differences in the ring"

Pathetic.

Good. Just to save what's left of the reputation of boxing - especially at heavy weight - the world boxing bodies cannot let this fight go ahead.

I hate Haye and Chisora and the ridulous pantomime that led to this so-called grudge fight.

But what a sad indictment on today's society that thousands were apparently willing to pay to watch this crap.

If you want to see a decent British Heavyweight (not this fairground attraction) then have a look David Price on Sky Sports tomo night. I easily think he can go on to be World Champion within the next 2-3yrs. He's a fighter to be proud of.

Don't you mean Tyson Fury who has already beaten Chisora and Rogan ? Price is avoiding Fury as he knows he will get beaten

pretty sure its fury ducking price,

think they offered fury his biggest payday to date but he turned it down to fight some bum.

Price is the best heavyweight in the uk at the moment

I read this with the voice of Mick from Rocky in my head.

It added immeasurably to my enjoyment of your post, I have to say.

Fury gave up the British & Commonwealth Titles rather than defend them against Price.

Seems fairly clear to me who is avoiding whom. That said though, I don't blame Fury/his advisors for staying away from Price.
