i think hawkins quick decline was as a result of adams' poor management and especially the fact micky rushed him back from injury. Under slade the slate should be wiped clean, he's got a whole summer of preparation to prove himself and i hope he can and prove people wrong about him.

I went to 46 games last season...he looked very dodgy before his injury and hopelessly shit afterwards.

Thats fair enough as its all about opinions and you have seen him play on a regular basis,but when you come home from a match and read the match threads the amount of shit players get not just hawkins from people who are not at the game amazes me,ile stick to my deluded opinion that he is a fair player and will hopefully come good.

If Hichelwood is so class, surley a bigger team than Port Vale will be after him.

I'm sure there is interest from league 1, in fact, there's a strong rumour that a certain west country club I know so well are after him.

But a move to Port Vale wouldn't be a bad career move for him, he needs to go somewhere and play some football, and when he does that he'll be able to command a move to a bigger side, he just needs games, that's all.

Should n`t be compared to Butters,who played at higher level,played more games in England,didn`t give away penalties every other game and was a good pro who would have played more games for us if it wasn`t for the Withdean Whingers who immediately got on the mans back.Should have been given a coaching role at the club.

hawkins has not played that many games in the championship about 12 most of his playing level has been non league or league of Ireland not as shit as some on here make out but if we want to mount a playoff charge next season he should get no where near the 1st xl
