As I was only 10 when it got knocked down, I dont really have many memories of the Goldstone - I have more memories of Priestfield.

So no, I won't cry about it

the saddest thing of all is to think that ten years on, despite the fact that we are still without a home to call our own, we have experienced back to back championships, played 3 seasons in the second tier of football, won a play-off final, and yet players of ours, fresh out of the youth team are verbally abused BEFORE a league game, and there is debate on North Stand Chat as to whether or not there should be the traditional lap of honour after the last game of the season just because we haven't won a title!

also in that time, people have had kids, grandkids, lost love ones, fell in love, broke up, got married, moved abroad, finished educations, got careers, and still go to this day, and there is no reward for the money and effort people have put towards the albion, but they still keep going back to games for more:clap2:

it is a way of life, and we are all proud to live it that way :albion:

Not today,infact not ever over the Goldstone, as mentioned

before, too fcukin angry, but I might "Have something in my eye"

Lets say, when we play Palace at Falmer, 3-0 up and the North

Very annoyed more than anything but onwards and upwards and we are so so close to a new era we can almost touch it.

Not really any emotions as I did not really follow the Albion during the Goldstone days. But can understand peoples emotions that did experience the Goldstone (eg as would have been a family thing like father taking son to game and so on.). Have a lot more memories since about 2000.

The democratic and free EU
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message The Goldstone Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

It was my North Stand, my South Stand, my East Stand and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

I went to have a look yesterday after Lil' Coach had his hospital appointment. He took his ball out of the car and had a kick about for a minute, then had a chat with Richard, who was doing the Southern Counties broadcast from the bus. I saw lots of blue and white shirts standing on the side of the main road looking in wistfully - was it any of you guys?
