Just caved in, as it’s 17c indoors and falling. Taking it up to 19c.
Can you let me know how long that takes?

I've just been reminded that it's quicker to turn an oil tanker than it is to get a cooling house to start warming up again!

19c? I'm lucky Mrs Gull let's me get away with 21c😅
MrsW usually doesn’t feel the cold.

It’s me! Not a specific thing like Raynaud’s, I get a cold core in winter at times, especially sitting in the north stand. Funny thing is I like skiing, it can be as cold as -20c.

The damp cold of maritime UK gets me.

Will do. I and builders put in tons of insulation 10 to 20 years ago, plus in our north facing ground floor extension completed in 2011 I maxed on insulation spec. Making a big difference to the overall ‘envelope’.

Absolutely NOT.

I did, however, dig out one of my favourite woolly jumpers to sit in some autumnal sunshine in the garden this afternoon, perusing the Sundays with a cheeky Merlot whilst dinner was on the go.

Hold firm everyone. Keep it off. It’s a temporary chilly spell. No need to fire up the heating just yet.

Daughter was complaining about the cold when she came home from work so I tried and failed to light the log burner. She's turned her electric blanket on and I told her that when we get the smart meter next week I'll know exactly when she turns it on and off.

I'm holding out until after the warm spell. One day at a time.

1° outside this morning and the temperature inside had dropped to a less-than-balmy 18.5°, so I put the heating on for an hour and it's back up to 20°.

Before the scoffers scoff, I have small children so keeping the house warmish is fairly important.

The house was around 17.3° this morning.

It’s now made to 18° with no help.

Hopefully, it’ll hit 20° by the end of the day.

Just need to make it to Wednesday without pressing the button and those warm
15° nights will return.

That's the spirit, no knee jerk reactions.
