we're still sleeping without the duvet and just the duvet cover on top of us. A long way to go before any heating is involved

In the process of the getting the boiler serviced. Just changed energy supplier from Npower to Ecotricity and I've been without gas for nearly four years.

Long story short Npower decided to put in a dodgy prepay meter that wouldn't accept the gas I put on the card. Had a series of cards and spent around £50 in the middle of winter. I gave up on gas and heating and when things were cold huddled under a duvet.

Looking forward to new found warmth. Also going to apply for compensation - failing that Ofgem.

Before central heating is turned on will have a period where gas fire is turned on in the evenings to take chill off. However, hopefully, not even that for quite a while

Have no heating at the moment. Old Baxi boiler has packed up again and doesn't seem worth spending the £150 or so to resurrect it again. BUT three quotes to replace with (and importantly MOVE - apparently you can't have it in your lounge fireplace!) a combi come in between £4,000 and £5,000

We have hot water via immersion heater, at least.

Might just tell everyone to MAN UP.

Not a chance, still in shorts and t-shirt in the living room. Will use a fan heater first before the heating goes on anyway.

Went down the pub this evening and was amazed the young lad behind the jump had put the wood burner on. I'm sat there in my shorts and the poor little lamb said it was cold when he got there so stuck the fire on. Landlord is on holiday and is going to go bloody crazy when he comes back and find he's started burning his logs this early in the year.....we're lucky to have it on mid January!!
