Have you got tattoos or piercings?

In recent years the quality of the tat artists and the ink that is used has improved and they hardly fade at all anymore!

I have plenty of tattoos from my rebel younger years and yes, I did have my ears pierced! My wife had a tat done a few years ago and it still looks "fresh" and it is a nice piece of work that can be hidden when required..

It isn't feasible to get rid of tats in reality though so I'm stuck with mine.. The earrings went by the time I was in my mid twenties so I'm not against either form of self decorating...

nowt wrong with having an opinion in my book, surely that's what a forum is all about.... So carry on

I'm not on for too much longer as I'm in Somerset watching the cricket and have to leave the hotel soon.

One of my tattoos on my forearm has drawn a lot of positive comment actually. It's a Jeepney (done in Manila) and as I do a lot of work for the NHS where there are a lot of Filipino nurses it's drawn a lot of positive comment.

Nice, I like tattoos but I would never get one.

Anyway, good debate but I must go.

I wasn't having a pop at you as an individual... It's just that there must come a time in life when blokes realise that it's time to lose the earrings... If you are happy to carry on wearing them that is you're right... You do not have to defend that right by getting narky just because someone has a differing opinion though... Debate is fair enough agreed?

Being called a twat is more than an opinion is it not ? You might think that you're being superior for some reason but to me you sound like an old fart.

I may not have worded it well but you get what I mean. Not surprised, I wouldn't employ someone with an earring, would if they have a tat, unless it's a ridiculous one which is all over their face or something.

you can't employ anyone yet as you're still at school

i have two fairly poorly done "homemade" tattoo's, which didn't turn out too badly and they're both fairly small, thINKing of getting some proper ones done, possibly incorporating the homemade ones to make them look less shit....would never get a piercing though as i don't think it'd suit me

however, if a girl has a tongue or lip piercing i'm on that with no hesitation whatsoever......also i love girls with tattoo's (if they're good ones obviously), and luckily living in brighton means my target audience is fairly large

I don't mind women with tattoos, it was my ex wife that got me started however male or female if they're scruffy they do look awful. Amy Winehouse is a case in point. What I don't quite get is why so many women seem to go for the good old 'slag tag'. It's just about the most painful place to have a tattoo as the nearer to the bone you have a tattoo the more painful it is.

I have no tats or piercings, but employed a guy in a senior position who has a single earing. To be honest his "Elvis" quiff was more of a concern to me, but he's good at his job, so that's what is more important.

None and no intention to. With both, small discreet ones can look good, anything medium sized and up is pure gash every single time, no exceptions.

Yeah, they just look stupid. Every time I see a guy with an earring I cringe. Just don't understand why you would want one, unless if you're a bit of a freak.

Feel free to seek me out at the Amex on Saturday, i would love to stand there and watch you cringe, i would absolutely laugh my bollocks off!

FWIW im 44, have 6 tats and my ear pierced. I plan to have more tattoos and at the moment have no plans to remove the ear-ring, in fact the last time i removed it my girlfriend at the time went and bought me another one, so she must have approved.

But at the end of the day im not worried about what people think of me, whether they dont like tattoos or ear-rings is their problem, the fact that i do like them is my choice. Oh and if i feel like wearing a football shirt i will, i really dont care what others think of that, if it really bothers them then they are pretty shallow in my opinion and i probably wouldn't want to share too much time with them in the first place.

I fully agree with this, From reading NSC it would seem most of our fans are super cool dudes who never do anything but the coolest trends.

Tut, tut at your age you should know better, just like me. Actually it's a matter of individual preference is it not ? I don't care for smokers but I don't moan about them. I'm not a huge fan of people eating greasy chips smothered in vinegar at games either but I don't let it bother me. Why a handful of people have decided that they're the arbiters of good taste and anybody with a tattoo or a piercing (let alone both) is a 'twat' makes me wonder if they don't have something more important in their lives.
