£500, two IoW festival tickets and a DAB radio in a Virgin FM comp. You had to guess who the new presenter was going to be and I guessed Johnny Vaughan correctly.

A wheelbarrow full of booze at Jevington summer fete; there was about 20 bottles of wine, a lot of cans of cider and a couple of bottles of gin.

First prize (£500) in St Wilfred's Hospice lottery the first month I entered.

A CB radio at a CB meet at the Allen Arms in about 1981.

A glider flight (didn't bother)

Won a holiday camp talent contest when I was a kid. My parents were happy as the prize was a week's free holiday to attend the final. That was a week in Seaton during October half term when it was cold, wet, windy and most of Seaton had already shut down. The highlight was finding out Woolworths was open until 8pm at night!

Last thing I won was on Sky Sports NFL. They ran a competition which I entered for a bit of fun and then forgot about. I got an email saying that they hoped I had seen their SuperBowl preview and that I had won a prize and they would be in touch. I hadn't seen the programme and the only prize I could think of was the trip to watch the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. I was a little disappointed when it turned out I had 'only' won a brand new xbox 360 plus NFL game.

Two tickets to see a fantasy film that I really wanted to see, aged 7. My parents wouldn’t let me go, for reasons that were never explained.

I don’t hold grudges; I’ve never forgiven them.

Won the rollover of a pub quiz once, with the question "what year was the film Elysium set" (read it on a well known torrent site a day before and thinking "what a load of cr*p" - but was a year out, but that was enough for them...) and then opening the safe with one out of 20 keys. Won £860.

Won a Red Hot Chili Peppers VHS video off Raw Power when it was on tv (late at night?), was amazed at the time that my name was read out on TV. This led to some obsessive competition entries for a few years with some good wins. I had a motto, if I see a competition I enter it. I used to love the randomness of not knowing what the postman would bring in the morning or what a phonecall message could be. Now of course, it's just junk mail in the post and some **** on the phone telling me he's from Microsoft and there's something wrong with my internet. Progress eh?

I won (in no order):

- a 3 day whale watching trip to Iceland (sorry Jo, was just for one, haha). This was from a sponsored charity walk, I was £10 short of raising enough to get a free entry so chucked in another £10 myself.
- a 2 night trip for two to Cannes / Nice via FHM magazine, staying on the world's largest sailing boat.
- a flight voucher for £100 from doing a wordsearch quiz at work. Encouraged a friend to enter next month and she won another £100 voucher. Both went to Rome with other friends with this.
- a trip to the JD factory in Lynchburg, Tennesse (took one mate, never forgiven for not inviting another. He quite rightly says the unlimited JD on the trip was wasted on us. Got to see BRMC in a small venue and Mick Jones play with some band I can't remember).
- a cheque for £100 from entering an instant win on one of those Coinstar machines that take your change.
- various dvds and cds.
- two tickets for Live8, took a friend. Text entry from a free sim that had £10 on it, used for 5 entries.

Annoyingly, I used to win holidays when I was single and nothing whenever I was in a relationship. Talking about this annoyed various girlfriends.

Majority of these wins were from entries that had to sent in on a postcard. Now they're all via the internet I've won NOTHING for years and rarely bother now. Shame.

I had a good run though!

If you remember a while ago the football competition for the World Club championship based in Brazil where Man Utd played and left the FA Cup because of it? No? Well I won the competition and got a unique print of the program front title signed by all the presenters including our own Mark Lawrenson and I think Gary Stevens... wow.

Ha, that has brought back some memories. I came third in a Junior Tarzan competition and my younger brother won. Pontins Wick Ferry, Christchurch sometime in the late 70's.

I'm sure I was in the Junior Tarzan around that time. Went to Wick Ferry a couple of times as it was easy to get to by train (my parents didn't drive then). Seem to remember the kids entertainer was Uncle Jimmy.

Used to love a trip to Tucktonia model village which was just up the road and also the trip around Mudeford Bay on the Noddy Train.

I once won a signed football at an Albion quiz night. Peter Brackley presented it to me, which was nice.

Happy days.
