Brighton v Port Vale, 1994 I think it was. Turned up at the ground but couldn't get in.

Spurs V Arsenal at The Lane around 15 years back. To be honest we weren't confident of getting a ticket anyway - ended up watching it in The White Hart pub.

On Liverpool Street station?

2nd runway at Gatwick
Villa v Liverpool - God knows when it was though.
Tried the home end and the away end (put on an awful fake Scouse accent), gave up and went to the pub in Aston and got pissed !!

In the Gillingham days I'd got so used to doing the journey every other week that when Gillingham were playing Fulham in a top of the table clash and the Albion were playing away I decided on the spur of the moment to jump in the car and drive up there.
Got parked up, walked towards the ground, was just approaching the turnstiles when I saw the big sign saying 'All Ticket' :nono:
I drove straight back home in not the best of moods - a 150 mile round trip for nothing!!

Arsenal v Liverpool League cup semi (?) in 1989. Went with scouse mate. Tried to get into the north bank because there was no f***ing way I was standing in the clock end with a load of scousers and their untamed wit. Ended up going round the corner to the Plimsoll Line pub

not quite a sold out game but went on a road trip to old trafford one day (believe it was a carling cup game) at uni (just random off the cuff thing me and my housemate decided to do). We got held up in heavy traffic on the way and arrived and half time and managed to blag our way into old trafford for free :D

Brighton v Tottenham in 1978. For some reason, the game wasn't all-ticket but when we turned up, about 15 mins before kick-off, the game was already sold out.

Southwick v Maidstone in the FA Cup Replay #57 or something, 3rd or 4th replay (back in them days of no penalties) and it was at Old Barn Way. A stronghold of well over a thousand turned up and they had to turn people away...needless to say many just jumped the walls but being a young lad I was too short! Thankfully my Grandad worked for them at the time and got me in!

Lost 4-1 I think.
