Yes, whatever the standard service rifle of the IDF 6 years ago was; open day at army firing range. Which they don't do any more unfortunately.

We used SLR's as part of basic training in the RAF. I had to do two re-takes just to get past basic training I was so shit at it!

That Brings back memories, done my baisc at Swinderby and had to do retakes!

It had some real kick to it and known as the elephant gun, as in thats what it could take down!

Then they brought in the "plastic" Sa80!

:clap2:

Yes. I had a lot of rifle evenings when I was in the cadets. I was awful. All the sqn NCOs achieved RAF marksman standard apart from me. :dunce:

Yep, been clay pigeon shooting and also air rifles but back in 1980 when in Albuquerque when asked by my hosts what I would like to do, said fire some guns.

We went out into the desert with a Winchester rifle, Colt 45 and a Magnum and shot at beer cans.

The kick was so hard that I think I might not have hot a single one.

My basic was at Swinderby too, October 1982. I understand it's not used for basic training anymore?
