Have you ever been to Number 10?

i had the good fortune to visit no10 earlier this week. i didn't really shout about it because i didn't think it was that big a deal. it's a middle-terrace and hardly the white house. but others said they would be far more excited. so i was just interested to see how elite a visitor centre it was.

yup...many years ago. Few weeks ago was taken around the Palace of Westminster by a Civil Servant IT person and got to see most of the places the public don't get to. The Crypt underneath Westminster Hall is one of the most beautifully decorated places I have ever seen

Used to be a pub in Swansea called Number 10. Was in there ca.1981 and the landlord asked the women in our group to stop drinking pints, because it was 'upsetting my regulars'.

It closed down years ago - no loss to anyone apart from those 'regulars'.

10 Downing Street? Spent a most diverting evening there about 7 years ago. The sausages on sticks were superb.

When I worked for the Foreign Office my window overlooked the door of Number 10 and when you nipped out to lunch you could come in 'the back way' which involved walking along Downing St to get into the back entrance of the Foreign Orifice.
