inspired by the launch of The Seagulls Party, I was curious to find out what % of NSC have been members of political parties.

If you have been, what party, when did you join and why, and when did you leave and why.

I'll start off by saying I haven't yet been a member of a political party but I am musing over signing up soon.

As a fully paid up Groucho Marxist, I would not wish to belong to any Party that would have me as a member.

Yes I am. Have been since I was a teenager and still am to this day. Not as involved as I once was because the children and family take up much of my time but I stick my beak in on occasion.

I used to be a memeber of The Socialist Workers party when I was at college.

I graduated to the anti nazi league, at the time of the Miners Strike, but I am very much lapsed.

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll make an exception.

A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.

I am very much a reformed character now :D

My list does include the Anti-nazi league, Green Party and the Revolutionary Communist party :D

As an aside, an old friend of mine is the only person I know to have been asked to stand as a candidate by both the CPGB and the NF. The same person was also present at the "meeting that never took place" between Teddy Taylor and the NF.

It might seem strange to some but this dose not surprise me as there were a lot of socialist thinking people within far right groups that I was a member of

Strange one this, I am a member of the Conservative party, although I never have voted Conservative and I probably never will (I may have a lobotomy one day I suppose)

The reason is I am a member so that I can play Snooker at the, You've guessed it, the Conservative club (You don't have to become a member but it makes life cheaper, believe it or not, if you do). As this is the only Snooker club within a 10 miles radius, my principals don't extend that far (Interesting question as to how far they would).

The place is like a step back in time full of Send the buggers back, Get doing my ironing woman, Colonels with a hearing aid and a smattering of piss heads who like the odd game of snooker. Turnover is currently quite high as people keep passing away!

Yes you could say that. I was a member of the NF when those ideas were being expressed by Joe Pearce. Amazing that Joe is now a respected Catholic writer

I was mainly influenced by third Positionist ideas but didn't like the fanatical catholicism that went with it. They were a very scarey bunch as well. Made Combat 18 look like a grannies tea party
