Mine used to come to matches occasionally but I stupidly took her to Southend and then Orient and she hasn't been since, citing the aggressive atmosphere as her reason not to go.

What about you?

No chance. I wouldn't want to and she wouldn't want to go so everyones happy. She does want me to take her to an England game though.

Yes, and not only that, I converted him from a part-time Sheff Wed supporter to a full-time passionate Albion fan.

I took mine along to his first match against Plymouth. Just cant convert him from Sunderland though (although living in Ireland he has never actually been to a Sunderland game).

Have taken my girlfriend to two matches - both at the Withdean, firstly to the Cambridge game two seasons ago, when we had gone on a poor run over the Christmas & New Year period (we won 4-3) and then last season at the end of that dreadful run, against Bradford (we won 3-2). She is now my lucky charm, but have found her rather resistant this year. But I will keep applying the pressure and see how it goes.

It does take a bit more than one match but keep working on him ;)

Have taken mine to three Albion games, and she has not seen us concede a goal. And yet, I can't persuade her to come back (to Withdean, not to me).

Friendly v Charlton won 2-0
Away to QPR drew 0-0
Home to Watford won 4-0

And we have been to see Real Madrid v Roma at the Bernabeu in October 2002. My penance was that I went round the Prado and the Thijssen with her.

Got her to flog raffle tickets at the 40 Notes Christmas Party and the 40 Notes quiz night though.;)

I took my god-daughter to the Pompey v. Albion game at Fratton. She ended up telling her mother it was full of drunk men swearing at the players ! :D

Invariably I only attend if Mrs Brovian and the kids come too. I'm not one for saying "Right it's Saturday, I'm off down the pub, football and the pub again, see you all Sunday" Going to football is something we do as a family.

Took my 'first love' on the North Stand a couple of times and she really enjoyed it. The only match she found a tad tiring was the LDV game with Fulham in 1996/97, which we won on golden goal. It was the lowest ever crowd at The Goldstone (lower than the boycott game) and a bit cold. On the video review of that season you can see me going ballistic on my own and her stood there, leaning on a crush barrier. Look very carefully and you can see her mouth "can we go now?".

Took my most recent proper girlfriend (you don't take semi-serious ones to football) to her first Albion game at Priestfield and she hated it because it was freezing cold. We beat Shrewsbury 1-0 (Gary Hart) so it wasn't all bad. Her next game was the first game at Withdean, against Nottingham Forest, and she loved it. Got her to a couple of others after that as well.

One thing I'll always do is make sure said female is fully briefed before entering the football environment, so she doesn't end up embarrassing herself or, even worse, me.

My mrs came to the Wycombe game and after relieving me of my hat, gloves, and jumper she still claimed to be cold. She didn't even stand up for the first half, although she did join in with the sit-in at the end.

She is now highly sceptical whenever I suggest a weekend away. The first game she saw was the battle of Longford over in Ireland ("Brighton are playing!, well I never, what are the chances of that"). The second was Plymouth away this season ("Oh by the way there's footy on").

Her record;
Seen 3
Won 0
Lost 0
Drawn 2
Match abandoned 1

It's back to normality this weekend, when she will drop me off at the pub, go shopping and then pick me up after the game. And that's how it should be.
