Completely stunned. Not sure at the moment whether it is a master stroke from the board or a poor decision. Only time will tell but everyone must unite behind Adams at the start of the season.
I can't help but think of the old football saying "never go back" but then this could be the exception that proves the rule.

I doubt that somehow. Absolute shocker as far as I am concerned, Adams WAS great for us. I honestly think Wilkins would have taken us further next season than Adams will. Definite step back in my opinion.

We've had a woefull season failing to hit at least the playoffs in a piss poor league. This is a step back towards the Championship and hopefully beyond!

We have progressed 5 years. Wilkins had nearly 2 full seasons and we achieved NOTHING. His league recoard will stand as

Hardly brilliant is it ?. We also lost nearly £ 3 000 000 in the season before last and probably about the same this last season as the crowds plummeted. Why on earth are people suprised on the back of all that. Well done Dick Knight he wants a man to get us automatic promotion next season and Wilkins was never going to be that man.

What has Mickey Adams achieved since he left us last time? The last time he was here he was riding on a wave of optimism created by getting the team back to Brighton. He's got a much bigger job this time.
We don't know the true story re Dean Wilkins. I've never felt convinced that he is happy as a manager so perhaps he has been involved in this appointment. if he's been demoted behind his back then he has been badly treated. I think 7th last season was a wonderful achievement with his budget and crowds of less than 6K. Also being given the shitty job of getting rid of 10 players. Last time Adams was here virtually everyone got the push.

Knight broke the news to Wilkins last night.
"We very much want him to stay," the chairman said. "His strengths lie in coaching and the development of players.
"For obvious reasons Dean is in shock and we don't expect him to come up with an answer yet. He needs to think about it and we will do everything to persuade him to stay."
