Does anyone REALLY think that we've just seen an England team that is incapable of beating Wales and Slovakia?

If so ... elaborate.

Russia are the weakest team in the group and we did not beat them. That to me is a concern. I actually thought Wales and Slovakia looked decent today.

donkey Smalling should have been marking the scorer not leaving it to a dwalf (who otherwise played very well)

I think Hodgson has made a mistake with only three centre backs and I'd suggest tonight has proved he's made another mistake by omitting Townsend from the squad. He could have come on for Lallana or Sterling and kept the momentum going after Dier's goal. What is it about Milner that Hodgson values so highly? He was sh1t in the Dutch game too.

First half performance was good and we created a lot of chances, had Vardy been playing he would have been in the 6 yard box putting at least one of them in. Sterling was terrible and shouldn't play any further part.

I didn't want to see Rooney start but in his defence he was one of our better players

So relieved to get my money back from Ladbrokes from a betting point of view. Draw = stakes refunded.

Well done Wales today. Done so well and kept their concentration to the very last whistle.

yeah funny, you are deluded if you think Stirling offers much defensive.

Your missing the point !!!

The subs did nothing apart from invite pressure, with Rooney and Sterling off we had NO outlet to get forward and basically signaled to Russia to attack us in numbers.

If you can't see that's what happened you are very much deluded.

But Sterling was Forrest Gumps double.

utility, can play anywhere across midfield and right back at a pinch. maybe not suitable cover for this group of player, though he's a better crosser than Stirling.

put another way, i can see why you'd take Milner, but given the apparent style and game plan, Townsend would offer a better alternative.

Got to be honest I thought they both looked pretty poor, it was a good game but I don't think there was an outstanding amount of quality in the game bar Bale's free kick.

I certainly don't think we should fear a team with players like Williams and Gunter to be honest.

I'm frustrated by Hodgson's negative tactics once we got the lead. Wilshere was running away from goal towards the corner flag with ten minutes of football still left while Milner came on for Sterling then promptly failed to block the crosser for the Russian goal.

Vardy should have come on for Lallana after we scored, if not before.

The worst thing about the Milner sub was that the Russians were posing no threat whatsoever, we literally gave up on trying to get a second goal and let them back in it.

All of that. Was surprised to see Rooney taken off! This changed the way we played, and we seemed to lose the ascendancy from then on. Don't like needlessly knocking the Manager, but for me tonight that's where the blame lies. Plus Sterling should have been subbed at halftime ...or before.
