Have we ever had a player like Currie?

Dont want to get too over the top with his performance, but distribution wise have we ever had someone like him?

He looked superb on the ball and not one of his crosses didnt make the danger area or were headed away by the first defender. Every time we get a free-kick/corner now we look capable of scoring and I cant remember the last time a player has given us this option!

Absolutely agree, he's a great find and all credit to NcGhee for bringing him in. I did have my doubts when I first saw that we had signed him but he really is coming good. If we can get a target man we could really be in business in this division.

After an indifferent start, I think we're now seeing his qualities. He's never going to skin a player down the wing, the fella as clearly not built for speed. But in terms of picking a pass and orchestrating things, he is proving to be quite an acquisition.

If I was McGhee, I'd be tempted to move him into a central role where he would see more of the ball and could potentially do more damage, although the downside if we'd then lose his crosses in open play. I think it's worth having a look at though, as OGH and Jarrett are willing runners down the wings, and with the right man pulling the strings in the middle and picking them out, it could pay dividends.

Only problem with moving him into central is that he would have to do loads of extra work like closing down and working back, and that might strangle his creative side, I say leave him on the wing and get someone on the right who can play as there were times on Sat when we were screaming out for some width, add a target man and bingo!

He's a bit like Beckham innit.

Not the best at running at full backs but his passing and crossing abilities make up for it.

He looked class on Saturday - that dummy and pass for Virgo's goal was sublime. He could just be the creative midfielder we've been after, great touch, vision and quality of ball. If he can get fit, he could be a real asset.

He is getting fitter game-by-game, and his crossing is exceptionally good... we looked a much better side once we moved him to the right when Jarrett came on at Watford... I would keep him (Currie) there... it is his best position, IMHO... this means dropping Hinsh (who is playing out of position anyway) and playing Harding, Jones or, if we are going for it, Jarrett...

Saw him against Plymouth and Coventry and didn't look that great, but hearing now loads of good things about him which is great. Looking forward to seeing him and Nicolas in tomorrow nights game and saturdays game with QPR. Can't wait:clap:
