Well no, surely no one has that pessimistic a view?

Each day this drags on it gets harder for us though, but we can still sign decent players right up until the end of August.

We blew it last year and with a top two squad as well. As for this season well its too early to say.

Blown it no, not until its mathematically impossible, however we've not helped ourselves in terms of preparation......

Safe to assume that Tony Bloom won't be idly standing by and seeing the club's momentum stall. There will be huge amounts going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Including next season's manager - whoever that may be - with a shopping list of target signings already in place. Fully expecting things to move very quickly indeed when next season's manager is publicly confirmed.

Once this Poyet business is put to bed, I think it will all happen like a whirlwind. New man in, a few going out and a LB, CH, CM AND CF coming in.

At this stage in the year there is no way anyone can possibly dismiss the chance of promotion due to an ongoing management issue and no signings yet. It'd be completely bonkers to start speculating on the season now.

New manager on the way. Squad rejuvenated. New ideas and tactics. One or two new players. Vicente back and up for it. Ulloa unstoppable. CMS and Hoskins fit. Buckley improves under new manager. Bridcutt stays.
Recipe...success.

Ashley Barnes will still score more than either of them tho eh?

How can we have POSSIBLY blown our chances before a ball has been kicked? Jeez that's even worse than worrying about the results of pre-season friendlies or talking about 'must win' games in August.

Of course the whole Poyet saga has been less than helpful (especially the way it's dragged on), but football-wise who knows what next season will bring at this point?

Absolutely. We haven't picked up a single point since this whole suspension saga began. Doomed, I say.

Probably right...its a decent front four. Ulloa will be the best front man in the division and will get 20+ next season. If Barnes behaves himself he can get 12-15. That leaves 10-12 for CMS and Hoskins to share. Not too much to ask is it?
45 ish is the target no. for the strikers. 20-25 ish for midfield and about 10 from defence. Get that and we will be in the shake-up again.
