Going back to BT broadband

originally left BT because they are normally crap but £135 saved in the first year

what do you think?

I have been thinking of going from BT to Talk Talk. On the face of it TT appears to be cheaper by about £5 or £6 a month.
As I have no probs with the speed and reliability of BT, I haven't worked out a reason for changing yet!
Can you take the contract with you when you move Glas. or will you just do a runner!

I had BT bb for years without any service problems. I changed because they couldn't match O2's pricing.

O2 is only £7 a month and I've not had onesingle problem with it...

I've got BT and it's a hell of a lot better than any other broadband provider I've ever had (having been through all of the cheapy options when I was a student). The service is more reliable and they are very good at fixing problems (either with the phone line in general or specifically the broadband). When I did shop around for broadband (about 2½ years ago) it did seem to be a bit more expensive than the rest, but after the hassle I had with others I thought it was worth it.

ADSL24 FTW

Good luck talking to India when you have a problem with BT. They cannot and will not deviate from their script even when you tell them what the problem is.

altho adsl24 have good service. they never sorted out the problem we had at our student house final year that meant we could only get 0.1mb adsl (altho we started off with 2 months of 2mb) the only advice they offered was to get a bt engineer out to check our liens in the house, and if there wasnt a fault, to pay him 280 quid.

if the internet had actually worked properly, adsl24 would have been great...

You have to have the problem in the first place for them to be able to fix it...

Yes I've had two in 2½ years with BT. One was when the phone line went dead; I texted them to say that I had a problem at about 7am, got a reply by 8am saying they were looking into it, engineer called at 9:30am to say he would be there at 10am to look at it, and then he called at 11am to say it was fixed. That was cracking. Other problem was when someone else in the neighbourhood set up their wireless network on the same channel, thus killing our connection. Call centre man in India took 10 minutes to guide me through diagnosing and fixing the problems (despite my erroneous protestations that it couldn't be the router as it had been working fine previously and must be the connection!).

Compare that to about one problem every two weeks with Virgin Media, and a shoddy router that they provided that required resetting every day or so, and a similar incidence of problems with every other cheap ISP I've ever had, and BT look positively saintly.

hello mate
my talktalk would be cheaper if the exchange I'm on was un bundled so I have to pay talktalk £12.99 a month BT own the exchange hence its free and when I move I can ditch them if they are useless my talktalk contract has just been renewed so I have 7 days to change my mind.

BT's service might be alright, but as a company they're complete c*nts. I'll be sticking with TalkTalk even if they become more expensive.

always been my thinking too but over £10 a month cheaper .....no contest
