I took my four year old son to his first Brighton game against Bristol rovers.
After signing him up to gully's gang, i was chuffed with all the free stuff he received in the post, including the tickets for the Bristol rovers game, I must say i was very impressed with the fans and the club on the day, I myself am a millwall supporter and have been for over twenty years BUT as some of you may be aware, millwall is not a very family orientated football club, which i find very sad, i have taken my son to about five millwall games and each time its been a disaster, you can imagine, we (millwall) seem to attract some out and out wannabe donuts, so since moving to Sussex iv been thinking about going to watch Brighton, i think it will become a regular thing, as he now tells people he supports gully's gang Brighton or gully's cats(not sure where the cats bit comes from), he met gully and had a photo done and he now keeps asking if we can go every week, but the withdean is a bit cold for every week, but I'm sure when the suns out we will be there, so that leaves me to say, hats off to all you loyal supporters who go to the withdean on a regular basis, you all deserve your new stadium.

Thank You.

Fair play - well done for taking the young un to watch the Albion. Met some Millwall supporters a few years ago on holiday in Greece and they were absolutely lovely people. Most football supporters at every club are decent.

Wow, now that's something to warm the heart! So pleased your son has enjoyed himself at the Albion.

My eldest loves going (though not so much when the weather is really wet or cold) and enjoys seeing his mates and other people he knows there. A real community type thing with the shared experience of following a local side.

Hopefully you would've seen the piccies and plans for the Amex Stadium and are considering going more regularly when it opens? All are welcome you know!

Fantastic mate glad your lad is enjoy the ride on the Gus bus.
Cheered me up no end after reading some of the doom mongers & their rubbish on here. Hoping to take my eldest nephew soon, Though it'll be in the spring now can't see his mum letting me take him there in this weather.

Gully's Cats

Quite possibly one of the best posts from another clubs fan involving our kids ever left on here (especially from Millwall). Bearing your little fella in mind, it brought back memories when we played you at The New Den on Boxing day, which you trounced us with an Alexander hat trick.

My lasting memory though was when I took by son up for the game, he was about 10 years old. We went to one of those typical foodie pubs which was full of Millwall fans. We didn't have colours on, that is until my son took his jacket off and loo and behold without my knowledge, their he was sitting with great pride with his Albion shirt on.

My first thoughts were oh no here we go, but praise to each and every Millwall fan that day, they came and shook my sons hand, told him to enjoy the game and they even gave him pocket money. Ended up copping over £90. Since you went up he keeps asking if we can go again, thinks he's going to cop 90 sovs each time at Millwall Rang 606 that night to let them know but never got a call back, but surely thought this deserved an airing.

There were 2 guys that day, one called Roy and one called Neil. Hats off to you both I thank you for the way you and the others treated my young lad....no need to bash me up behind the gaff though I thought.:laugh::laugh:

Best regards

Thank you for your replies, quite overwhelming, i was expecting a bit of stick for being a millwall fan. My mum has bought my son the Brighton goalkeeper kit for his birthday and i have bought him the gully teddy and some bits and pieces for Christmas, so the wheels are in motion, I'm sure we will be regulars at the amex stadium, it looks unbelievable, I'm even exited.

Thanks Again.

And in true NSC fashion I must pull you up on your spelling unless you do actually mean to be "exited" It's always heartwarming to hear of a kids first match & more so when he is becoming an Albion supporter. Even I get "exited" when I read these tales!

I think you're the guy who sat behind us. I just remember someone sitting behind me with a child around 4, and you told us you hadn't been in a long time. So I'm guessing it's you!
