Has this been the worst day/night for the Albion for a long time?

Firstly, losing 4-2 at home, and could end up in the bottom-four by 16.50hours

Secondly, finding out the Michel Kuipers is out injured for 2 months and we only have John Sullivan at the club, who has made 5 senior appearances.

Thirdly, vice-captain Steve Thomson admitting that he wants to leave and return to Scotland

Can't remember a worse day for a sequence of bad things to happen to the Albion since I can remember anyway.

I think you have misread what I meant in the other thread. Never would I want a player to feel like they have to leave the club.

It wouldn't surprise me if alot of players start to feel like they want to leave, some of the abuse from the fans towards certain players is uncalled for, can you imagine players wanting to turn up and perform infront of fans who are never happy whatever the players do, and are looking to leap upon any tiny error or bit of misfortune to justify their own often inexplainable view that that player is the worst to have ever played for the club, should be sacked asap etc etc, etc.

I fear that the club is about to reap the ill harvest that has been sown by those fans who are never happy whatever the performance / result, and yet they still think their abuse is merited because they have paid to get in, and that their victims (the players / manager / board) should be happy to be on the recieving end of such abuse because they are professionals and therfore its ok, despite the fact that the players / the board / the manager in question have been trying their best for the club.

Whilst you make some valid points above, surely people who are paying VERY good money have the right to show there feelings, if doing there best is only leaving the team in or around the relegation zone, then there best is just not good enough.

Over the last 6 games, there have been 5 lost and 1 drawn, that is not acceptable, those sort of statistics will quite obviously create critisism from the fans.

I have just seen Micky Adams interviewed on "Sky Sports, Through the Night" it was after the game last night, apart from him saying that he felt the booing after the final whistle was directed at him and NOT the players, he did not inspire me with any confidence as to what he / they are going to do to improve things.

In any club like Brighton, the paying fans will inevitably have the final say, like any business, without the paying customer, there is no business.

I think the fans frustration is mostly to do with the fact that we have 11 individuals who are unable to function as a team. We scored a great 1st goal and then just ran around chasing MK Dons like headless chickens for however long it was until MK Dons scored. We then decided to try and take the game to them again and had our best spell in the 10 mins before half time. We were caught by a quick goal 2nd half and from that moment on we were beaten. Heads went down, the ball was treated like a hot potato and we were just embarrasing to watch. The team had no heart and looked like a clueless shambles of individuals. You could say, kindly, that we were beaten by a better team but it seems just about every team is better than us these days. We are heading for a relegation battle and the fans have every right to let the players and Adams know what they think by booing at the end of the game. I personally can't be arsed to boo, I just won't bother going again until Adams gets us playing as a team or preferably he is sacked and someone who has a clue about how to play in league 1 takes over. Isn't Di Matteo in his 1st stint as manager? We need to try and find a man like him who understands how modern football is played. It's getting to the point that it's not a question of can we afford to sack MA but rather can we afford not to, the man has clearly lost it imo and this has been evident since very early in the season. We have not improved at all and we should be seeing green shoots of recovery by now, even if he has dismantled and rebuilt the side. I actually don't mind losing too much, it's the manner of our defeats that I find so depressing.

We have not been this poor as a team since Jeff Woods days at Gillingham, the warning signs are there, will the board act or stick their heads in the sand along with the fans who still think MA is going to lead us somewhere good. Just imo like

Is it not also guaranteed that if the results continue as they are, attendances will drop off very quickly (the credit crunch will not help that factor either) all the good players will want to move away, no other good players will want to join us, either on a permanant or loan transfer.

As i stated earlier, out of the last 6 games, 5 lost 1 drawn, that is really not acceptable for supporters paying good money.

I agree that constant booing and abuse is not right, but it will happen at ANY club that is not performing to an acceptable standard, a couple of seasons ago i went to Old trafford on 3 occasions, and there fans were booing a bad pass FFS, irrespective of the result, and after they do win they slaughter any player who has had a bad day at the office !!

Raise the bar a little mate. You may be happy with a relegation fight and 2 wins in 17 games but most fans are not. Criticism is part and parcel of the job. You think this is bad , imagine what it would be like in some of the Northern football hotbeds. The team would have been publically tarred and feathered by now. What message does it send out that the fans are happy with the utter shite on offer and a likely bottom 4 place after 20 games. As I said earlier, raise the bar a little.

What happened with DW was bad enough but to replace him with MA has been a major mistake and there is no sign of us getting out of this situation. I have a lot of respect for the Board for what they have done to keep us going but now they have to think very carefully as the fans have had enough of the drivel that is being presented and enough of a Manager who apart from old fottball cliches doesn't have the tactical or technical ability to get us out of this mess even by bringing in all the best players in the world.

A good post mate. I would also add depressingly that Adams, Virgo, McCleod and hawkins are all on wages and contracts that we can ill afford. Relegation is a real possibility and if that happened i fear we could be even looking at administration!
