Has there ever been a worse REF than today?

He was a dreadful ref, some of the decisions and also non decisions were shockers.

He seemed to have it in for Revell inparticular, who was owed a liftime of free kicks today!

You think yours was shit - you should have seen ours!

The ref was a disgrace to his profession

Missed (or chose to ignore) several nasty incidents whilst penalising Jamie Scowcroft everytime he won the ball fairly.

Booked Morrison because a City player waved his arms about.

Denied two clear cut penatlies for blatent fouls on Scowcroft.

Ignored a blatent body check on Hills at the end.

Failed to book McIndoe for repeated dissent and ridiculous over-reaction.

Both Linos were equally abysmal and spineless.

But we still won 2 - 0 and are now 5th in the league above our NEW rivals.
15 games unbeaten in the league by the way :bigwave:

He was more annoying that outrageously bad though. He was fussy when you didn't want him to be, and then totally uninterested after obvious fouls. He made decisions that seemed to defy logic. There was absolutely no consistency. BUT, he didn't do anything that, ultimately, changed the game, so for that reason alone he's by no means the worst.
I was nodding in complete agreement till your last line. He awarded Huddersfield the free kick from which they equalised.

The cause of this free kick was probably lost in the fog of the numerous random and mystifying decsisions he made all afternoon, but as the ball was dinked over the top, there was no discernible foul at all that I noticed, but we were of course treated to the "genius" of this ref in spotting something so subtle that nobody else in the ground could actually comprehend what he'd seen. If anyone can tell me what that free kick was actually awarded for, I will buy them a Sherbert Dip.

The blatant chopping down of Forster on the edge of the area late on, with no free kick - well, I can reveal why nothing was awarded. Forster had complained long and loud to the ref, arms flapping, at a perceived foul on him earlier just by the dugouts. This was the refs "f*** YOU" response five minutes later.

Professional to the end.

Indeed. I said to my old man that I thought he was going to be sent off, but thankfully the ref pulled the yellow.

With the way that the ref was handling things I feared he was gonna show Coxy a red.

I don't think it warranted a straight red. He did catch the other bloke, but it was in no way a two footed LUNGE like Hammond's last week.

Agreed. I concede that Prosser the tosser is without doubt the worst ref ever. I'd forgotten about him.

Dunno how, though.

You`re to young to remember Ron Challis obviously.

The ref just seemed to get worse and more against us, giving petty decisions eg there free kick for the goal which I still don't no whats for. I do remember Andy Durso being completely against us before though.

For anyone that plays Sunday league football they may met a ref called Mark Leadbitter who looks very much like an older Napoleon Dynamite, I'd be surprised if he hasn't been twatted a few times in his refereeing career, needless to say why.

Sums up why we have no good refs, its not worth the hassle - twating someone who has given up time over a game of football?

My immediate thought was yes, Phil Prosser. I'm normally not a fan of refs but I do undersatdn their job is quite tricky but Prosser I do not respect.

On NSC for over two decades...
Now, lets be fair to Saturday's Ref, I thought he was several divisions out of his depth, and that his only crime was being incompetent.

No idea why he gave that free-kick, but it is amazing how often blatantly wrong decisions end up in a goal - the corner given for Notts County's first goal in the '91 Play Off Final being an obvious example.

I think that the difference between Prosser and this chap for Saturday was their INTENT. I never got the impression that the Ref on Saturday was anything more than incompetent, Prosser was very deliberate in the way he went about giving United the points.

I believe that he is in his first season as a league ref, I'm sure we've had about four such refs already this season. They have to start somewhere of course, but why do we keep getting lumbered with them? ???

Cheating, time wasting tactics from the palace scum.
The ref was too lenient
