Has Liam Rosenior gone DOWN in your ESTIMATION ?

Tweeting one of our own to criticise, hashtagging a group you know will react badly in what has to be a deliberate attempt to shit-stir things for an Albion player. Some 'fan'. Wow. With fans like you who needs Nigels.

This.
Ernest shows his colours, and they ain't blue and white.

Sad.

Says the man who spends his Saturday nights putting on 'comedy memes' taking the piss out of our players

1. It wasn't taking the piss. I'm delighted we have Glenn Murray back. It was one hell of a block to deny him in that particular instance.
2. It was a photo tweeted to NSC which I merely recycled. It took me about 30 seconds, far from spending my night on the task.
3. Saturday nights? Plural? Can you give me a few examples please, as I can't recall too many.

So I pose the question has Rosenior gone down in your estimation thanks to writing for the Sun, cue abuse being flung at me, obviously he hasn't gone down in peoples eyes , fair enough.

I know you are left wing, not just because you go on about Tories, but also because of your hypocrisy. Do you recall insulting me two nights ago on another thread, and now you feel abuse is worthy of comment when it is aimed at you. Coupled with the hypocrisy, comes stunning arrogance as you posted about the whole gang being out tonight - might it not have dawned on you that the "whole gang" may have a point and it is you who has made yourself look rather foolish.

It's so easy to tell other people what they should and shouldn't do with money.

Wasn't aware he is writing for The Sun. Look forward to reading his articles, love his interviews, such an articulate character, good on you Liam.

Articulate and The Sun...not often you see those 2 together in the same sentance :moo:
As regards to young Liam (what a signing he was )..couldn't care a hoot

Edit..just noticed they aren't quite in the same sentance...but you get my drift

You've shown yourself up a lot here which is a shame as you're quite a funny bloke at times.

Time to take a step back and well, just be quiet for a while. Really stupid comments and views.

Sun sport has some highly intelligent and well-educated writers. They just manage to disguise it. I happen to know that one got a first in Classics at Oxford, yet his first column for the Currant was full of 'hands-off warnings' and 'come-and-get-me pleas'. Looking at it another way, you could say that they wear their learning lightly and prefer not to show off as much as some broadsheet journos. Matthew Syed springs to mind; he once had an entire page-length Pseud's Corner all to himself.

They'd all be able to spell 'sentence' correctly, though ...

This is the part I find saddest, principles have been thrown out of everyones windows. I guess I was wrong to care

The original question was whether Liam had gone down in my estimation (I am assuming as a person not a sportsman). There would be 2 ways that this could happen. Firstly, if he was a hypocrite and I don’t know anything about his beliefs, statements made etc and so cannot make a judgement on this. Secondly, if he was to break widely-held taboos like arrogance, rudeness, prejudice, excessive greed etc. and I don’t think he has done that.
On the other hand if I was in the highly unlikely situation of taking up an employment offer from The Sun, I would be a hypocrite given the things I have said about the paper stretching back over 35 years. However, the only people that could make that judgement would be people that knew me well enough to know what I had said and believed.

I've arrived late in this debate, but in answer to ENREST's question, absolutely not. A newspaper has given him an opportunity to write a column. He has accepted. Well done Liam. Some extra dosh and maybe an opportunity to hone his writing skills for a journalism job when he stops playing. What's not to like. I'm sure he too might have been happier if it had been The Times, but it was the Sun. What should he have done, turned the offer down because it was not a classy enough newspaper?

Sun and Times are both part of News International, so no difference really.
