Certainly was my beloved right back. Remember wondering when he was going to say something remotely funny.

They are doing re-runs of Chef on Sky Comedy in the mornings. How that passed the criteria only the lord comedy god will know.

I remember thinking he was OK at the time, but IIRC I think Jenkinson's had Duncan Norvelle as the comic the week before

You say that, but someone, somewhere sanctioned Citizen Khan under the same genre.

Couldn't stand him in the 80's, highly doubt he's any more amusing now.
In the interest of fairness, I think Peter Kay is shit too.

I get the joke but you knew full well that it'd create a binfest.

I was probably being naive but I genuinely didn’t think it would trigger quite such a blatant attempt at derailing. Maybe a brief chuckle at my poor humour.

It has only ever been politicised by the far right who have tried to discredit it as a Trotskyist movement.

Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. Black Lives Matter is officially apolitical - certainly party politically. Of course, it doesn't exist in a vacuum, and so ends up venturing into social politics. It has to.

Anti-racism is not extremist politics. The denigration of BLM movement as a 'Trotskyist' movement (and therefore extremist movement) is a far-right, pro-racist fabrication aimed at gaslighting anti-racism.

Given your fabrication about BLM there, your post is nothing more than advocating an apology for racism. You should be ashamed.

What utter rubbish . I haven’t fabricated anything . Just because a cause maybe morally a just one it doesn’t mean you have to accept BLM are against our current way of life here in the UK, ie capitalism and doesn’t mean you want to defund the police etc and various other crackpot aims BLM have . One of their leaders back in 2015 was done for something dodgy with prostitution etc . These are not the type of aims of a decent organisation .

You are very very naive if you think BLM is a caring sharing cosy do good organisation . It’s main aim maybe just but much of it’s other aims are extremist .

And no I’m not advocating any apology for racism . Nor would I . Even the left leaning BBC is having concerns about the political aims of BLM as is the Premier league .

Have you actually read the BLM charter !! Not a penny has been spent on improving the life’s of black people despite the millions of pounds they have raised over the last 5 years .

Nibble, pricks like you and davewhereverheisnow are part of the problem.

Constantly baiting and trying to whip up hatred and division.

You should be ashamed.

You're no better than the far right you so despise.

Sort yourself out fella.

I think the problem with BLM Is that whilst the sentiment is very important, the organisation BLM is highly political and has some very unsavoury people high up in its ranks .

I think a non politicised organisation like kick it out etc would be a far better option for footballers in the U.K. to hang their hat on .

I would definitely not support a trotesky type organisation like BLM .

Agree.

The meme is great. Taking the knee, great. Talking about stuff, great. Being nicer, great.

Running an office and website, and a registered political movement (if so), with a manifesto and a charter and audits....hmmm....

But I'm white so it really really isn't my shout.

https://blacklivesmatter.com/

I consign it with other well meaning but a tad misguided organisations like the Green party, the Liberal party.

But, but....the meme is really important and I support it 100%.

As I also said, I'm white so it really isn't my shout.

I think you may’ve known in advance that it would give good :fishing:

I thought it would give some folks a chuckle after all the serious BLM arguments on here. Genuinely didn't envision or intend for a binfest and nor was it a fishing trip. However I do think it has served to highlight some of the angrier elements on here. Being called a prick for posting a totally inoffensive joke aimed at Lenny Henry with a mildly touchy subject header. Luckily some of the more level headed posters on here were able to have a chuckle at it and take it in the vein it was posted.

A pity people are so highly strung. If it's not welcome on the Big Board, tip it in the Gammon pit. Give a ****.

Now it's VOTE Black Lives Matter: A new political party backed by Million People March leader plans to contest seats at the next General Election

Sasha Johnson is among those spearheading Taking The Initiative Party (TTIP)
Ms Johnson has been whipping crowds into a frenzy during recent protests
She said the TTIP 'will be the first black-led political party in the UK'

Bring it on .

What an awful person she is, aggressive and stupid. Hopefully they’ve got more credible candidates than her or that will be a short lived ‘initiative.’

Well, this certainly seems like something to get in a tizz about. Let's hope they don't join forces with the Church of Militant Elvis Party.
