Has anyone seen any butterflies this year in England?

There's been excellent numbers of various butterfly species where I live in Dorset. Seen clouds of them on the common land behind my place since mid April.

I saw a red butterfly in my garden this morning, but I've only just seen this thread so no photos.
Can't say I've noticed many though this year.

Seen a few this year (sorry don't know the species) but spotted at reigate priory and at standan park, as well as our school field in Merstham

They are about as rare as Liam Bridcutt goals. Some photographic evidence would be nice. (Butterflies that is, not black and white footage of Bridcutt goals).

Come to think of it, but no, haven't seen a butterfly so far this summer. A couple of years ago I hadn't seen any sparrows either----now loads of them.

Plenty in my garden. In fact just after seeing this thread I went out in to the garden and saw two red admirals playing with each other.

not sure if this is exact one (as there are many types) but this little one is still fitting about in the front garden hedge, it is just the one, while we were in Wales there were dozens of them flying round together, they really seem to like the heat

Seen quite a few more over the weekend, cabbage whites, red admirals plus loads of small heaths in a field nearby who were really getting quite frisky....

We had a red admiral in our garden for a nano second earlier today. Now I know how Geoff Hurst felt when he scored his 3rd at Wembley against the Germans.

We had 5 in our lounge, emerging out from their cocoons. We do it every year, it's a wonderful feat of nature that is fascinating to watch, not just for the kids, although that is why we started doing it. I doubt if it's connected, but we do then see quite a few butterflies in our garden.
