I went with the throat spray and it was unpleasant but bearable. I’d much rather do that and be able to walk out by myself and be able to drive home afterwards.
Went for the same as you as you say not pleasant but once down your throat all done in a few minutes and i was even able to see the TV monitor as they were doing it. Drove home later no problems.

Take every bit of of sedation you can have……. Not trying to alarm you…. The air they put inside you to inflate everything will keep your friends and family amused for hours afterwards as well,
yup. absolutely this!

Had an endoscopy today with plenty of sedation, also had to sign something about letting AI get in on it.....using the modern wonder to facilitate identification of nastiness.
Reassuring that it's being used in the right way.

Had my third a couple of months ago. No problems with the first two but a fortnight after the last I had Transient Global Amnesia, apparently linked. Didn't know where I lived if my parents were alive, they died many years ago, didn't know much at all. Wasn't frightened because I recognised I was in the kitchen and knew my wife and dogs. Scary for my wife but gradually over an hour my memory gradually came back. Not to scare but just a warning of a side affect!

Had one a week ago on Sunday morning at Worthing. I would have like sedation but I knew I had to drive back home within 24 hours.

They do give a throat spray, which just about does the job and it's over fairly quickly.

Have to say, that each and everyone of the staff there were brilliant. Kept me informed though-out , loads of encouragement and above all kindness.

One of the many questions you get asked, which was peculiar...." do you know about Mad Cow Disease ? " I couldn't help but laugh and say ..." can you see my initials ".
