Feels like bad news all over the place at the moment.

Would be nice to have more reminders that the world isn't completely shit and f***ed

The news has been depressing for a few years.
I like to keep as up to date as I can but mainly skim.
The few bright moments were Trump, Bolsonaro and Johnson all being removed but, sadly, two of the three could be back at some time.

I'm on holiday in Cornwall and I'm having lots of nice fattening foods and lots of alcohol.....that's my good news.

Your image of the world is the reflection of what you expose yourself to and for how long.

Your image of the world is the reflection of what you expose yourself to and for how long.

The world probably is a bit f***ed though, surely thinking otherwise is sticking your head in the sand.

- Climate change/global warming threatening humanity
- Global economic inequality getting worse
- Wars in Europe and the Middle East / risk of other conflicts, possible nuclear war
- Terrorism, still lots of terrorism
- People not having enough kids to support the elderly in the not so distant future
- Donald Trump
- UK absolutely skint
- Forever chemicals and plastics in our bodies
- Too many people, not enough houses

and so on.

What's some GOOD news? In what way is the future looking BRIGHT?

The world probably is a bit f***ed though, surely thinking otherwise is sticking your head in the sand.

- Climate change/global warming threatening humanity
Although having been ignored for so long, this and future generations are doing something. We never re-cycled when we were growing up
- Global economic inequality getting worse
Yet we have more vaccines and far better healthcare than ever before.
- Wars in Europe and the Middle East / risk of other conflicts, possible nuclear war
70 years ago we had a World War. We've not had one since
- Terrorism, still lots of terrorism
There is less terrorism in the UK than there was in the 70s. Globally, there are less genocides.
- People not having enough kids to support the elderly in the not so distant future
It could be argued that a smaller population is a good thing.
- Donald Trump
He's not president and may well not be in December. Not a lot changed globally when he was.
- UK absolutely skint
Although we still and will continue to have service provisions that other countries could only dream of
- Forever chemicals and plastics in our bodies
Much less than before though.
- Too many people, not enough houses
Could be solved by your earlier point
and so on.

What's some GOOD news? In what way is the future looking BRIGHT?

I suppose my point is that everything in existence depends on how you look at things. I have placed deliberate counter arguments to what you have written. I don't claim them to be entirely accurate. But it is to show how perspective is a definer in a person's outlook.

To bring an NSC theme, one person says 'Albion will struggle in the Premier League' Another says 'It's great just to be there'. Who is the happier ? Both are potentially true though.

We only get three score and ten in this life. So best to focus on the good bits. A lesson to me, you, all.

I've got some good news. I've finally deleted my Twitter account. Utter human cesspit.
