I have tried. But Le Tissier just makes me well, smile. And that Portsmouth hate them means they cant be all bad.

Sorry.

But those silly black shorts in the 80s..a player called Forbes Phillipson Masters..Mick Channon..David Peach....David 'Baldy' Armstrong..feel that venom rise...

Remember that fateful afternoon - Southampton and Spurs played out a draw when each needed a point when we failed to go up 1978(?)

I have never forgiven the cheating scum

......and relax
:p

Seem to remember that Saints missed a sitter (hit the post I think) . Was`nt the culprit a young striker called Tony Funnell who ironically came from Sussex (Seaford to be precise) ?. Memories ....

It was before my time, but if it had happened a few years later I probably wouldn't.

And anyway, I do still hold out hope that we'll get the chance to stitch them up some time soon.

So how come your not joining me at the game tonight for said stitchings. Oh yeah I forgot - when I asked you if you fancied it you replied "Not really Bender. I hate Withdean!"

In the shadow of Seaford Head
I was standing on the West Terrace with Father, Father in law and brother in law. I remember the whole West Stand beginning to cheer as they thought a goal had been scored at the Den. I had my radio on and knew it was not true. No one believed me. :annoyed:

Never forget, never forgive and why a win tonight will be double joy.

PS both Fathers now gone, never to see Falmer.

He came from just down my road..i often spoke to him, and he pretty much admitted that both sides were just going through the motions.
He moved on to play in America , New York Cosmos if my memory serves me correct.

As a young lad i stood in the South Stand and honestly believed the rumours that Southampton had scored, then the enormous disappointment as the tannoy announced that Southampton v Tottenham had ended goalless.

So have i mellowed and forgiven them? Not a chance!

I was in the South Stand that day and there were definitely rumours of a Southampton goal, I think there were actually rumours that there were 2.

As a more cynical man of the world, I should probably say that the 0-0 was inevitable but I have never felt emptier at the end of a game than that day and, no, I haven't forgiven them.

Spent the evening reaching drunken oblivion in the Bath Arms as I recall.

Got so excited and I was in tears when we knew southampton had drawn.

Still cant hate southampton after the 76 cup final. the first final I really saw and loved united losing
