Has anyone forgiven Southampton yet for the draw with Spurs

Remember that fateful afternoon - Southampton and Spurs played out a draw when each needed a point when we failed to go up 1978(?)

I have never forgiven the cheating scum

......and relax

Nope, and I wasn't even born. My Dad taught me to hate them when I was a nipper. Same for Spurs, especially as there are so many Spurs fans in Sussex.

As I said in a previous thread...the announcer gave the result of our match directly after the whistle of the match at the Goldstone... didnt even get the chance to dream we might have been promoted.

It was before my time, but if it had happened a few years later I probably wouldn't.

And anyway, I do still hold out hope that we'll get the chance to stitch them up some time soon.

In the North Stand that day whilst we were playing Blackpool (anyone remember the flares!) there were a couple of brief moments we thought that Spurs OR Saints had scored......

The most predictable 0-0 in football history.(With the possible exception of Germany in 82)

Wasn't born then. But I probably wouldn't hold it against them if I was. If Brighton was in either of their situations we wouldn't complain. If we'd've won one of the games we lost earlier in the season they wouldn't have had the option of drawing, etc.

My memory is not what it was, but was that the day we beat Blackpool 2-0? I seem to remember a pitch invasion from the South Stand when the ref blew for a free kick about 1 minute before the end of the game.

As a young lad i stood in the South Stand and honestly believed the rumours that Southampton had scored, then the enormous disappointment as the tannoy announced that Southampton v Tottenham had ended goalless.

My disappointment didnt last that long though, as i was reliably informed by the adults i was with that we would walk the division the following season.

Then later that night i watched MOTD to see Lawrie Mcmenemy and Keith Burkenshaw holding hands and waving to all sections of the ground as they walked around the pitch BEFORE the game and i just thought you fuckin cheating scum.

So have i mellowed and forgiven them? Not a chance!

I have always had an irrational hate of Southampton, that game just re-inforced it.
