Many of his shots are with almost an empty net, a sort of penalty.
I don't know how old he is, 32/33?
He hasn't yet learned that you can hit the ball full neck, in terms of your feet, simply by forwarding your torso along with your whole body.
Ask Gross how he scored his last two goals.
Coordination, timing, quick reflexes etc.
Not only that: he can't hold the ball to make the team come up from behind.
I would have replaced him after 30 minutes.
But this is, of course, just my humble opinion.

If in the tail end of the most successful season in our clubs history when we've come out deserved winners against one of the giants of English football you feel the need to call out a player I suspect you'll never be happy.

Welbeck's contribution has been decent and I genuinely don't feel any player warrants criticism this season.

I can only think his knowledge and reading of the game adds something we need as RDZ picks him, but he's not someone I'd say is the backbone of the team or even a 'special' player.

He's the second fastest player in the Premier League. He's a cheetah.

He's total class, very understated. He's perfect in our way of playing.
Great to watch and has scored some lovely goals.

I just don't see it myself. I don't think he's pin sharp, and I don't think he's a brilliant finisher.

I also don't see him as the second fastest player in the PL ?!!!

However, dismissing all of the above - he does have his moments. I do not doubt his class, but as I said - I just don't think he's a player to push the team forwards like a Mitoma or a Caicedo etc.

For the record, I don't dislike him!
