Has anyone ever seen a penalty given..

When not one person in the stadium appealed? Not one? Not a player, a fan, an elephant - no-one? Was the offence so precise that it could only be seen from the angle of the referee?

It took 15 seconds for the Cov fans to realise it was a penalty. They thought it was our free kick.

And how did the linesman give a corner from the other side of the pitch when it didn't go out? Clever people these linesman.

You can't fault the effort today - a point would have been a fair result for both teams. We had 3 or 4 players having a bad day but so did they. Feed the Goat and he will fall over.

A very, very pissed off GC.

That match was BENT. About 20 seconds before that corner, a Coventry player should have been given offside - it was three yards, man.

The ref had it in for Virgo. He couldn't go near his marker ithout being called for a foul. Never mind that his marker persistently kept kneeing him from behind. His booking was a joke. He clearly won the ball, and the bloke fell over with both arms in the air. That is a called a DIVE.

As for the bloke who forearm smashed Leon while he was face down having just upended him - a foul the ref did not call. Lino only called the follow-up as a foul. A clear red card. The result? A yellow card for McCammon. Wallop.

And so it went. Bent decision after bent decision.

As soon as that penalty was called, me and my mate - and we have been discussing this for a long time - both said that we reckoned 'the word had gone out' to the referees. Dodgy decisions, get Brighton out of the division - they are an embarrassment to this division with the ground and set-up and everything. Mad? Deluded? Probably.

But think how refs have treated us this season, as well as the last time we were in this division. No, things DO NOT even themselves out over the season. That is bollocks. If they did, where are our penalties? Blatant ones we do not get called.

One thing. If you think today's ref was bad, think of the complete bastard we have on Tuesday. We have NO chance of getting a result.

Alleged hand ball by Tank that every Coventry player neglected to see or appeal for.

Moribound decision, trouble was the ref was with us for the first 20 minutes then it went downhill rapidly.

Nothing.

However, he signalled that Butters was tugging someone's shirt - which, if true - meant we should have had 4 pens.

No-one knew what it was for originally. Everyone stopped looked at the ref, and the Coventry fans just started laughing. They couldn't believe their luck.

Seen it on sky again and it was a joke.

The disallowed goal was well dodgy as well. Not sure how Mcammon can be interfering with play when the ball is sailing about 2 feet over his head.

It's a f*cking joke when journo's after the game still can't fathom what the hell the penalty was for.

One report I've read says it was a handball, the other says shirt pulling.

These things even themselves out over a season do they....we must be due about 1 a game if that were true. Bring on video replays for penalty decisions. These refereeing muppets may end up costing us dear

See you all at Preston...I'll have calmed down by then.

The referee's acxtions at the time - he seemed to tap his forearm - suggested it was handball - hence the response of a lot of journos in their reports.

It was not until after the game when McGhee clarified that the ref had told him it was for shirt pulling

Never.

How sad is was that after all those dreadful reffing decisions in the Stoke, Plymouth and Reading games, we comforted ourselves that it couldn't get any worse than any of those.

Yeah the ref was on his own for that one - and the corner when the linesman was totally unsighted due to a whole f***ing body being on the floor in the way - and the exocet defender that virgs got in the way of in the last couple of minutes and and and and and and and and and - today was bent. It must have been. I cannot believe the standard is that bad there must be more to it. Some south asian betting scandal or something - surely they cannot be that shit. Can they??
