Has anyone ever been to a Opera or a Musical?

Seen HMS Pinafore, Miss Saigon and Madame Butterfly at the theatre, all were enjoyable but Miss Saigon was absolutely excellent.

Saw Les Miserables, expected to hate it (went under duress) but it was AMAZING..
Theatre Royal is putting on La Traviata and Rigoletto in June, thinking about going as Rigoletto gets me moist but not sure how it would fare in that setting?

One of the best modern operas I've seen was Der Jasager by Berthold Brecht. Only it was in Italian.

Saw Miss Saigon in Charlotte, it's a MUSICAL. Nice shirt, smart trousers is good enough surely?
The cream of Charlotte society turns up in stretch limo's and tuxedo's giving it large, then go to the bar and drink Bud light from a bottle. No class.
