I would hate this to happen, but if any brewery were to take them over, I suppose Shepherd Neame would be the best choice.

Just far enough away from LDC
If true, without doubt the scariest thing I've read on here for a long while.

We should start a protest group and refuse to buy any S+N products.

Pale Ale for preference, when it's available, but Best Bitter usually. Or Old. Or Elizabethan. Or Tom Paine. Or ....

As for my source, two of them, quite independent of each other.

One ... a promising* young local journalist in Hastings.

Two ... someone (also in Hastings) in the world of bonfire.

* some of his promises never seem to materialise, however. :lolol:

This is terrible if its true, I buy Blue Label and Tom Paine for a bar in Chichester and if this happens will stop doing so!

Harveys is a Sussex institution maybe we need to put barb wire round our borders and stop these pikeys from Kent getting in.

On a serious note isnt Harveys still family owned? if so it can only be sold if the owners have had there heads turned by a large offer. Harveys is a succesful brewery so it cant be for financial problems?

mmmmmmmmm down goes another pint of Best:drink:
