He's got a point. Just what did everyone do before the Amex and at away games? Bunch of beer snobs pretending that a birthright is being denied them. Maybe you'll all fart less in future. Every cloud and all that.

I don't recall ever being considered a s**t fan for wanting a decent beer. Nor is there anything snobby about liking a decent beer, and disliking awful ones.

As for going to the pub, the options these days are limited. You have to leave by 2pm - that's no fun.

As for options nowadays - well, that was quite often the option for those getting to Withdean and still is for those going to away matches and we won't mention the Swan at only 5 minutes away or the Hiker's Rest (15 mins?) - and why are these options so, so important now when they weren't pre-Amex?

I think I'm in the majority and don't care what's sold. I certainly don't have this soul-searching about what to inflict on my palate at away games.

Because of using wording like you just have which, in essence, says "the stuff I like to drink is decent, the stuff you like to drink is dreadful piss water."

Many real ale fans can not seem to simply drink and let drink.

Well done. There's no need to take anything at all in the context it was written, is there? My point was that to suggest such a boycott over something of this relative (lack of) importance was wrong.

There was originally a suggestion, stated as fact, that the brand of BEER would change.

Ten seconds later, some real-ale activist, is all "Right, let's boycott ALL prodcuts at the Amex. Who's with me?"

It was over-the-top, childish and ultimately proven to be totally needless (as I pointed out at the time). People are so reactionary about everything, its ridiculous. IF a decision is made that affects you, then start a dialogue, to find out WHY the decision has been made. If you still don't agree, maybe then think in what way you might challenge it.

One of the key components of a good away day for me, is deciding where to grab a decent pint and maybe some grub, pre-match on an away trip. If it mans I avoid the trying little too hard to be cool types, then that is no great loss. Each to their own

The context it was written was before you posted, nothing that was posted after can have affected your post?

I qualified my post with 'if' , I just thought you'd taken a pretty argumentative and aggressive tone considering it didn't affect you in anyway unless you've a snobbery against beer drinkers

I like a good cider and I'm largely indifferent to ale (although I've had a fair few at the Amex as it's easy to get hold of). However I wouldn't dream of saying my favoured drink was 'decent' whilst making the implication that yours is anything but.

I'm able to accept that different people have different tastes. Fosters might not be for me, but it is chosen by many. Why is it so few real ale fans are not able to understand the same?

And as I said..I'm in the majority who don't care. Pub near the ground and drink what's on offer. Quite how that equates to too cool for school, God alone knows. Are you seriously suggesting that those who can't be arsed to check for CAMRA recommended pubs are doing so to look cool?

I don't recall many people saying 'cider is shit'... you seem to have a chip on your shoulder about this... and I don't really understand why.
