They also had Tribute for £2.80 and Doombar for £2.40. The only down side is the money you save on the pint invaribly ends up in the jukebox.

Could you jump on the train at Preston Park and go to Brighton station and then get the train from there? Could you do that without paying a fare? Alternatively I guess you could walk over to London Road Station.

Can you get the bus to London Rd station?

Yeah the 5 and 5A go from practically opposite the Tap to shops at the bottom of Beaconsfield villas (where Balti Express, Channel Glazing etc are) you just have to walk up Springfield Road then, probably a 2-3 min walk from the bus stop.

Went to Brixton Academy last night and it was £5.10 for a warm can of Tuborg......suddenly £4.20 doesn't sound to bad does it!?!

Think I'll get the bus to the Hare and Hounds after a game. Decent range of beers and great food. I don't really like Harvey's or any of the others and cannot imagine paying 4.20 for a beer.

If people are happy to buy a shit pint of Harveys in a plastic cup for £4.20, I might take a shit in a glass, liquidise it and offer it around for £2. Could make thousands

All true but my season ticket works out roughly £20 per match which is very reasonable in a new stadium with transport included for Championship football.
I very rarely buy anything at the ground as i can go two hours easily without eating or drinking something. Also i can't be arsed with the half time queues. I did really enjoy a pint after a game occasionally in the east stand brassier in a proper glass but can't do that anymore as it's for families only.

Used to like that East Stand Brasserie, especially in the winter when you could go in there and thaw out. Loads of space and tables and chairs and a wide range of beers served in a proper glass. It obviously had to go.

The Meantime in the Hare and Hounds was more than £4.20 a pint...

Whoops. I do not really like Harvey's and I meant to type I cannot imagine paying 4.20 for their beer. I have no issue paying for a beer I enjoy and think is well priced which for me Meantime is.

£4.20 seems reasonable to me... but then London is a world apart where beer prices are concerned. I was gobsmacked to get a pint of Strongbow, and a gin and tonic, in Brighton yesterday... and get change from a fiver! There are places I frequent where I wouldn't get change from a tenner. Granted I was in the bloody awful Wetherspoons but still.

What was my point again?

Oh yes - I rushed home after spending a night in a hotel in Brighton only to find that "Your Sky engineer will be with you between 1pm and 6pm" actually meant "No one is coming, not at all, because we got something wrong when we made the appointment and when we realised that, we couldn't be bothered to phone you and let you know we weren't coming".

I have no words. Sort of.

On the occasion when I cannot go to home matches I give my ticket to an friend of mine who is about 76.
Lovely old chap called Billy.
He's a bitter and ales man and when I told him it was £4.20 for a pint of Harvey's this season he was visibly shaking and had to sit down.

I tend to load my season ticket up prior to going to match. With the various discounts on offer the price comes down to less than £4 a pint, which for a football stadium i don't think is too bad.

Another reason to stay in the pub until the last minute, and straight back after final whistle, I don't mind paying a bit more as it's a sports ground but £4.20 is a piss take.
