Rubbish, he's there for his personal opinions as most radio presenters are.

We all broadcast ourselves these days and if you post on a public messageboard(s) and do so in a way the identifies you, you are open for being commented in another public space.

A local BBC radio station is no different in that respect from this board.

I'm not criticising the poster or backing up what Harty said, but people comment on him all the time so he's perfectly entitled to comment.

.. and you are free to slag Harty off on here, which people do.

In any case it was a very light hearted comment and probably wasn't meant to cause offence.

Interesting point which is I would never have put myself in that type of position to be commented on in the first place.

I am sure DTG has a sense of humour (mind you he did flounce once)

I disagree. This board isn't funded publicly, or made possible by a charter that enshrines the whole neutrality/right-of-reply thing.

It's simply unfair to lay into someone on the airwaves without giving them a chance to have their say.

However, I don't really know the background to this, so perhaps I'll stop talking now.
