You have to hand it to him, his CV is looking quite good ever since he left the stains.

He won a pot and finished fairly high up the league at Portsmouth, and he seems to have turned around Spurs. Admittedly, that in itself was never going to be difficult given Spurs' resources and the ridiculously low position he inherited, but I guess I'm most impressed with the way he seems to get the most out of players like Jermaine Defoe. Defoe is your classic "confidence player" and I doubt many other managers would get the sort of form out of him that we are seeing now.

I guess the challenge will be to see how well he can juggle 4 big name strikers, especially with rumours that their plodding Russian striker already wants out.

Not ahead of Peter Crouch IMHO.

Different types of player. Crouch is behind Heskey in the pecking order of "big target men". I suspect he may be behind Carlton Cole as well, Capello has made it no secret that he is not a fan of Crouch.

I for one agree with him. Never international class in a million years, never scored against a top class defence.

I think they are quite similar.

Agreed, his eye isn't looking so good but the CV is quality. For a not overly erudite man he's obviously got an excellent footballing brain and Portscum must be gutted to see his star continuing to rise as theirs hopefully plummets into the Championship.

But would you buy a second hand car from him?

Apart from that fact nearly every club he has managed has gone into or nearly gone into administration, he is fairly good.

I think he would have been given the England job on one of the last two occasions it was vacant, had it not been for all the bung allegations/police raids etc.

The FA just couldn't take the risk of something coming out while he was in the post, but they would have liked an English manager, and obviously he's better than McClown.

All of them are in the shite once Harry has done with them, Portsmouth, West Ham, Southampton and Bournemouth.
Makes you think as it can't all be a coincidence.

How much of that is Harry's fault? Pompy, yes. By all accounts he spent a lot more money than portsmouth had to build a fantastic team. Saints? He was only there a year. Admittedly he took them down but I don't think you can blame him for their financial troubles. He Left West Ham ages ago. I'm not sure how he can be linked to their problems. Same with bournemouth. He Left them years ago.

What I don't like about Redknapp is how he's always painting himself as a miracle worker. He's always down to the bare bones, or facing a near impossible task or some other calamity which he has somehow pulled the team through.

West ham nearly went in when they had Joe Cole. He was sold off to make sure they didn't. Harry also made an average of 17 transfers a window. Meaning he must of spent alot of money.

I can't see it. He's always been a wheeler-dealer, never happy with the players he has at the club. I can't see that he would have been up to it at international level, where he would have been limited to those players available (and of the requisite quality). He would have had to have fit the tactics to the players, rather than vice versa. As much as anything, he probably would have got bored working with the same players for any length of time!

The financial trail of destruction Redknapp leaves behind him is truley something to behold.
Be afraid, Spurs. Be very afraid.
