Pretty sure he ignored Paul Reid when he tried to get in contact with him. So probably a big ego, and therefore would not work well with Gus.

I don't think he's the answer.

I posted about him on our FB page about 2 weeks ago and still stand by my comments that all he's good for is warming the bench at Palace.
As those living downunder have already stated, he's lazy and how he still gets a game with the national team is beyond me.
He's been living on past glory for far to long and any manager who signs him will have wasted their money in the stupid weekly wage he still thinks he's worth.

Just 2 years ago if anyone had linked someone of Kewells calibre to the club, we'd have been amazed. I can't believe the player snobbery on here now!!!!! He has played at the highest level and have medals that most of our players could only dream of. His experience on the training pitch would be worth the wages alone.

I agree some of the players we're linked with but people rubbish can get a bit ridiculous on here sometimes, but HK is not one we should be looking at - too old, too injury prone, too slow. I liked him in his prime, but that was a long time ago. No, no, no thanks.

So that's a no then.

Harry Kewell? For crying out loud. If We sign any more players at the end of their careers we will be washed up by the end of January.

In response to this comment I'd say that we are still going to only get "some" players ( Kewell or otherwise) who are in the later stages of their careers as we are not quite a career highlight destination club just yet. I'm all for younger talent but there has to be a balance. That being said I'd like to actually see more of our younger talent actually getting more game time, I've been disappointed that JFC, Hall & others are not getting enough of a chance & that isn't a criticism of Gus because I love the man, but I'd like to see him take a few more chances with our developing players. I believe that it would have done no harm if we had thrown some of them on in the latter stages of matches last season.

I was wondering how long it would be until this did the rounds. He was rumoured to br going to Swindon a few weeks ago, or so I was told, but even they didn't seem too keen.

Who have we signed at the 'end' of their career?

Odd comment

This.

Just because a player reaches 30 or just over, it doesn't mean he's automatically 'passed it' or can't be bothered..

Look at players like Ian Harte, Kevin Phillips, even like Kishishev when he was playing for us..

I think you will find vicente, bruno, PIG and bridge are all on the way out rather than the way up, hence dropping into the championship rather than still playing at the top level. My point was that with the experience we have signed we should now look to sign some younger players that can really build for the future so we get a real balance. Signing Kewell would be ridiculous.
