Also with only one midweek international, there were no breaks. Teams played on Saturday 3pm, players went off for International duty Monday morning, and we're back with their teams Thursday, training on Friday, ready for match on Saturday 3pm.
Everyone happy, both club and country.
True. Brighton have played 11 games. England will have played 6 in the same time frame. Crazy.

Over the years have always enjoyed big international games. Just lost so much interest with so many meaningless games so much so I dont know who or when they are playing. Just about accept this present break if there was just one game on Saturday. Euros and world cup a different matter but because of so many meaningless games in qualification take no interest until last 16. Just like Europa League Cup and Championship now far to many teams in early rounds. All UAFA want is to get as many teams club and international to play in these competitions.
Long may FA cup continue in present form where no seeding and if you lose your out

This is the third international break since August. The World Cup and the Euros are good competitions but this is as pointless as the friendlies.
Players have been named, who are already injured, so getting vilified on social media,
It’s a waste of time.

the International Calendar has been the same for at least the last 25-30 years.

I can't understand the current narrative that there has been too many international breaks, I can only assume people haven't been paying attention for that time frame

Would rather people just come out and say they have no interest in the Nations League, which is fair enough, you never see any moan-ups and long soliloquys on player welfare about this November break when it contains World Cup or Euros playoffs, funnily enough

Kane is past his best anyway so maybe he should consider retiring from international football.

For me, always club over country - just can't get enthused with England. The Albion result dictates my mood for the rest of the day. The England result just makes me shrug my shoulders and say "Meh". Didn't watch a second of the last World Cup and only the Spain match in the last Euros - even that was because I was in a Turkish bar with my son who wanted to watch it and loads of Spanish supporters.

Nations League is an utter waste of time and a bore fest.

It has, but.....given that Kane have never won anything his legacy will be 'England's record scorer' until the record is beaten.

So smashing 6 past the Isle of Man in the Carrefour-sponsored official UEFA conference League cup knockout league second division playoff playoff quarter final, is massive CV fodder. For him.

(Latest score, England 2 (Kane 2 pens) I.O.M. 7 (Quigly, Qualm 2, Quince, Pevsner (OG) 3)
Rather annoyingly the nations league is used as part of the WC qualifying process for the WC

Kane turned 31 in July. He's joint top scorer in this season's Champions League. Lewandowski's also on 5 goals and he's 5 years older.
He was the difference 2 months ago with both goals at Wembley against Finland in his 100th cap game. He's still world class.

Club over country will always be a self-fulfilling prophecy if one doesn't actually watch any England games, or even want to watch them in tournaments.

Of course I'm not saying here that you have to watch England or support them despite being English and liking club football.

That remains entirely your choice. :)

I think they're being disrespectful to Carsley. I bet most will suddenly feel better when Tuchel arrives.
After tonight's thumping victory, a few of them might be privately regretting their decisions.

Foden needn't think about hurrying back. Noni Madueke showed more threat in one half of football for England than Foden's offered in recent memory.

We've beaten City before at the Amex in the Premier League. It was great last time and equally as enjoyable this time. But it's still domestic local success that means little to nothing outside the support of our specific team.

There's no comparison between that and the collective way the country including the fans of all the teams gets behind the national side in tournaments.

I will agree with you that it's annoying stopping for Nations League games, especially after a victory. But if we hadn't been relegated, the opposition would've been stronger and the games more attractive.

It's tempting for supporters of clubs who've made it to the promised land of the Premier League to start believing that success there trumps everything and that there's nothing better. But an international tournament win would beat all of this.

See how the Lionesses Euros win brought joy and increased the support. Now multiply that by many times and you'll be close for the men.

But I'm happy to agree to disagree with you here. As a sentimental purist, I'll admit that I'm not likely to change my mind on England any time soon. :)

Apart from this particular day when Brighton weren't playing, I'm sure. And possibly Sunday too. (Ok, I know what you're saying.)

Don't worry, I'm happy to be in a minority here.

You do know that Foden doesn't play on the right wing don't you>
