Hare & Hounds Uruguay Flag

Anyone else noticed the Uruguay flag flying from the Hare & Hounds in Preston Circus ?
I assume its an Albion pub rather than owned by some bloke from Uruguay.
Good to see. I'll be going there New Years Eve to see Peter & The Test Tube Babies so I'll ask them what its all about.

What was it like in there? I used to go in there about 25 years ago and it was wall to wall, but for a fair while now, in different guises, it's been dead!? Prime location and can't seem to drum up trade?

I used to drink there nearly 40 years ago. Christ*!*!! Good that it hasn't changed its name - even better if it's an Albion pub. Must go in there. Do they still sell Brickwood's Best Bitter?

Somebody on my Facebook that I don't recognise has claimed to have taken over and sent me an invitation to their NYE shenanigans. They seemed at pains to point out it will be NOTHING like it used to be, which can only be a good thing as I'd never have dreamed of setting foot in there previously.

Another reason why it might have been empty the last time I went in there was it was about £3.60 for Fosters, about two years ago

Its my pre-match watering hole from now on as I walk up to the game from the New England Quarter.
Previous time I went there it was all green and I was charged something like £3.80 for a pint of Red Stripe. Service awful too.
Pleased to say the new people have got things sorted. I can say as a certainty that Fosters is £3.20 and Red Stripe £3.40 coz thats what we drunk all night. Bluejuice, I checked and there's some pictures of New Years Eve on the website...

Strangely enough my coach to Villa is using this pub as a drop off and pick-up point so I might meet the new people behind this place.
I guess the real reason I am happy is that its also around the corner from London Road station which my route to Falmer.
Anyone know who's got this pub ?

Well yes, as they're on my Facebook claiming responsibility. Although how they've made it onto my facebook I've no idea as I genuinely don't recognise them. Might have to pay a trip to see if any memories are jogged.
