Interesting story when coupled with the "Lynch to sign for Forest today" rumour.
Given the fact McNulty is banged up I'd have thought the club would try to sign one of these two players for the season ahead.

I don't have any problem with him making this move, but I will still boo him because it is fun and makes him play worse.

i dont see why anyone thinks he "used us", it not uncommon for out of contract player to train with a club near where they live. Let it go.

If Lynch goes and Harding then we're very short on cover at left back. wasn't expecting Harding to sign anyway given that he hasn't been playing in the pre-season games but the fact that Lynch was playing had left a glimmer of hope that he'd stay.

With Lynch going to Forest, Harding to Southampton and Ifill to Wellington it seems the attarction of playing for the Albion is no more than it has been for the last 10 years, so much for the Falmer factor. If you haven't played for Stockport you won't be signing for the Albion it seems.
Lynch - Forest in Championship, higher wages, left Albion with bad taste in mouth
Harding - Hardly liked by support here, was only training with us anyway, second choice left back
Ifill - I think we'd all rather ply our trade in New Zealand given the choice.

Well they all have better options and aren't really the type of player we want anyway. I'm not too bothered about losing out of any of them apart from maybe Ifill and he clearly had a much better offer.

This kind of negative talk "oh no players don't want to sign for us" always happens before RS pulls a decent signing out of the bag. People seem to panic about not having LB cover, do you think Sladey will just leave it or is not aware of this?

To be fair he's only trained with us.
Seems that he was never goning to sign for us and Slade knew that. He wasnt used in any friendlies to take playing time from any of our players.
Dont see the problem to be honest, not like we've really wasted any resource on him or paid him anything

I've got no inside info, complete guesswork, but could it not be that
i) it helps out a former employee
ii) it gives our young full backs a LB to watch and learn from, in the absence of any other fit senior LBs
we are supposed to be a community club after all. I don't really see what we've lost from letting him train with us, and as some others have mentioned it's a fairly regular occurence letting local players train with a club while they are looking for a deal.
