Lets only type total praise for Harding from this point on just in case Everton discover NSC and find out what alot of us really think.


Id be looking for at least £800k to be honest, any player deemed to be good enough for the Prem should command at least that much.

The reality is we will be lucky to get 200k up front. The deal maybe worth a lot more, but as ever it will be linked to him playing so many games for Everton, goals and if he somehow gets an England cap.

However if we hold on to him until the end of the season and he does not sign the contract, although we are entitled to something as he is under 24, it will not be all that much. The tribunal will look at his age, how many games he has played (not likely to be many more that 60) and his current earning (at this stage not that much) and even with half a dozen U21 caps we will lose out.

I'd be surprised if we got anything for him. Why would Everton want to pay for him now when they could get him for free at the end of the season? (Although I must confess I didn't bother looking at the link that was kindly provided, maybe this would explain things a little clearer.) I reckon we should get whatever we can for him and bring Stuart Tuck out of retirement.

I meant retirement from professional football you stupid little man. I reckon we could get him for half a mil (which actually doesn't seem as unlikely as Harding in the Premiership to me!)

They can't get him 'for free' at the end of the season - because he is U24 it would go to a tribunal - we would get 'training costs' of at least £300k.

Still, I would be disappointed if he went -I think he, and several of the other youngsters, are the future of our club - and could easily be part of a successful Albion team for many years to come.

NAYSMITH TALKS STILL ON

Everton officials have moved swiftly to dampen reports that Gary Naysmith has turned down the opportunity of extending his Goodison Park stay by three-years.

There have been suggestions that the Scotland international is ready to bring to an end his spell on Merseyside when his deal expires at the end of the season.

Naysmith joined the Blues four-years ago when former manager Walter Smith brought him down from Heart of Midlothian in a deal worth £1.75 million.

Scottish Premier League side Celtic are rumoured to be ready to offer Naysmith the chance to return north of the border and are apparently monitoring the situation.

Naysmith is one of several players who is out of contract next summer but he is only one of a few who has opened talks over a new deal.

'Discussions between ourselves and Gary's representatives are continuing and we are looking at the possibility of extending his contract,' said Chief Executive Keith Wyness.

Naysmith, meanwhile, looks set to return to full training within 48 hours following a knee problem he picked up whilst on international duty for Scotland against Moldova last Wednesday night.

The problem forced him out of contention for the weekend win over Southampton, though he should make the trip to Norwich on Saturday as long as he suffers no adverse reaction.
