will be interesting to hear the discussion in parliament in October about leaving the EU, there's no point in dragging our feet in a DEMOCRATIC vote to leave , A HARD exit is the way forward, NO FREE MOVEMENT is a must , THIS COUNTRY IS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF STANDING ON ITS OWN TWO FEET

That's very clear. But free movement for whom? The movement of the people many most fear, terrorists from the middle East is already controlled entirely by ourselves. Brexit won't add to it. So I'm surprised you are so fixated about (presumably) EU migrants. Is making the French etch apply for a visa worth losing free trade over? Maybe you think it is, which is fine by me. Although I happen to disagree.

Round my way the only way we get the crops in (I live in Kent) is by East European (EU) labour. Are you in favour of a few discretionary arrangements vis a vis this sort of issue (i.e. a flexi border - which will be very expenisve to police, but do-able) , or are you prepared to let the crops wither if our local feckless yoof would prefer to play space invaders and sponge of the parents than do a bit of work? I'm not being provocative - it is an interesting question; for example, we could introduce local penalties for areas where the locals refuse to work . . . . fine the parents, deny access to the NHS, who knows.

THEY CAN STILL COME VIA A WORK PERMIT , if its so good for them they won't have a problem applying for a visa, then they can go back home and spend their money they've saved up, all's good

And the Remainer are the ones with the ultimate say over the negotiations. You don't get it do you.

It was CMD and now it's May. Both Remainers.

So, actually, it's the Remainers who are pathetic and don't have a plan. No contingency.

Not convinced May was a real remainer. Marginal at best. She has appointed the three wise mean to sort this, all brexiteers, lets see. C- and could do better so far. Shame its us who will feel the pain

What plan did Johnson and Gove have then? They were in power and they campaigned to leave. "You don't get it do you?" I don't think you get that nobody had a plan.

Amazing levels of stupidity and insults chucked about on this thread when people are just making factual points.

Scale back the NHS, import more food...

That may work. In fact, if we hard Brexit tomorrow, we could set up a visa programme immediately. Just the trade issues to navigate . . . . no doubt you would say a price worth paying. Its not what I wanted or voted for . . . . but I can't argue with your reasoning.

I do hope Lidl and Aldi don't get cold feet about Brexit and scale down their store developments, they are about the only people expanding and paying a decent wage at the moment.

Yes, exactly. It's how the Australian farming industry operates.
