Simply put, yes.

For a more long-winded explanation: I feel he is a better manager than he is given credit for and for a change has decent experience of this division. In our current predicament, I feel this will be vital in picking up the points needed to stay up. Okay so the football won't be as pretty as it has been at times under the recent managers we've had but the Albion will only play their best football when they've got some confidence back and before that can happen, we need to get some more wins under our belts. Is he the man to eventually win us promotion? Well detractors will point to the strength of his Newcastle side that he inherited which really shouldn't have got relegated in the first place but managers do not go unbeaten at home all season and storm the division simply through good fortune. He's certainly got something, whatever that may be.

Back to 92%... This is the best appointment we realistically could make. Pulis and Sherwood have eyes on bigger jobs.

Only joshing and I'm happy with it. As I've stated as fact elsewhere Sherwood is a complete tool - dodged a bullet there, but I doubt he was ever in the running.

Voted yes! Of all the names posted he is probably the right choice and the most realistic we could hope for. he has announced his preferred playing style which is no great shock and will suit our present playing stock. I guess he will have a lot of previous match watching to do, god knows which matches he will learn most from (bar Fulham). Highly interested to see where he starts with playing recruitment?
C H seems like he has a nice manner about him, quite the gentleman and does have the right experience and c.v.
So good luck Chris UTA

Given the Albion's current position, squad, likely limited spending and the other jobs around right now, I think we have done well to land Chris Hughton. He can deliver what we require and I think he'll do well.

After this, and the last two games, the rest of the season seems to look a lot rosier.

The most curious thing..
So when will the first Hughton out poll be? :shootself

No why on earth have we gone for this loser, call it gut instinct but unless they give him 4 proven Prem players he will take us down.
Gutted worse name in the hat IMO.

He seemed quite confident in his press conference that he knows our players quite well and has been watching games in the championship on a regular basis this season including many of ours. Sounds like he should hit the ground running which is a big plus

From Wiki: When Hughton was dismissed as Newcastle manager, Kevin Nolan told The Sun, "Sometimes at clubs, when a manager goes, there will be some players who are pleased to see the back of him ... But everybody liked Chris. He was very popular, not just with the players but everyone who worked for the club."
