The funny thing is St Patrick was actually English while this ST George bloke was Turkish or something. He did kill a dragon though which is pretty cool.

Its St Georges day, the sun is shining so I am going to do my patriotic best and leave work early and give some of my hard earned shilling to the brewers of this fine, great nation. The more money I hand over the better I will feel, knowing that I am playing my part in helping these wonderful band of men who do so much to keep our inns and hostelries the envy of all the known kingdoms.

St George is also the patron saint of...

Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Fakiha, Bteghrine, Cáceres (Spain), Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, Gozo, Pomorie, Preston, Salford, Qormi, Rio de Janeiro, Lod, Barcelona and Moscow, as well as a wide range of professions, organizations, and disease sufferers, including syphilis.

Mind you, the wikipedia page does also say he's the patron saint of Milan. :wrong:
