My "definitely not drinking until the weekend" promise I made myself yesterday morning- this new information about it being international men's day today is surely a loophole in said promise, isn't it?
It was an hour of stating the obvious (drink in moderation, do exercise, don't smoke, eat fruit and vegetables etc.)
Also, it was hosted in the US and she was going on about "getting your annual physical and blood work" which isn't a thing we do in Canada. I'm also supposed to drink 70oz of water a day, which I needed to convert to metric volume because I don't live in the stone age.
Much to my amusement and her consternation, MrsBC was 'asked' to compere an online men's health seminar this afternoon for her large organisation. She tried to argue that if the boot was on the other foot, many women would be offended and less likely to attend a women's health seminar hosted by a man. Her protestations fell on stony ground and she went through with it, refusing my helpful offers of advice about what issues to talk about (eg the disappointment of receiving a bad pint of Harveys, the hurt caused by conceding a late equaliser and localised chaffing from ill-fitting boxer shorts).
There were 3 blokes from Andy's Man's Club , another suicide prevention organisation and a prostate cancer organisation and, by her account, managed to dispense excellent advice and encourage openness among the attendees.
