The crappy, commercialised American Halloween that is now "celebrated" here is.

However, the pagan festival of Samhain, first celebrated by Celtic pagans is not. It marks the end of summer and the harvest period and the beginning of winter. It is traditionally the time when the veil between the physical world and the spirit world breaks down.
Yep, it's a celtic festival that is seemingly an event here, why, because TV and supermarkets believe they can cash in on it more than Bonfire night. I hate it and wish it would disappear back to America. It is a crock of sh1te.

We had a family (adults present) take two tubs of sweets last year for themselves. They even took the tubs. So not bothering this year

f***ing ponces

Used to have to subtly have to have ration the sweets. I always bought generously, then one year an Augustus Gloop from somewhere, grabbed handfuls leaving little for later kids.
